Beautiful Black Women
84Beautiful Black Women
Okay, I really didn't know how to approach this Hub.
Should it be the most beautiful Black women or the most beautiful African American women?
Not being very PC myself (and also not really paying attention to Indian or Native American in my own case) I went with Black.
So here are some of the women that I consider the most beautiful
Beyoncé Knowles
Yes you know I had to start out with Beyoncé Knowles.
Beyonce was born Beyoncé Giselle Knowles on September 4, 1981 in Houston, Texas.
And besides being beautiful, she is a singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model.
She pretty much does it all.
Beyoncé was the lead singer of Destiny's Child originally. and if you combine the groups record sales with her single sales, Beyonce has sold over one million albums.
She came in fourth on Forbes magazines 100 Most Powerful and Influential Celebrities in the World in 2009, and came in number one of the list of Best-Paid Celebs Under 30, having earned over eighty-seven million dollars between 2008 and 2009.
So far Beyonce has released three studio albums, three EPs, twenty-four singles, two live DVDs, one video anthology album and a video remix album.
She has appeared in several movies including The Fighting Temptations, Dreamgirls and Austin Powers in Goldmember.
Toni Braxton
Toni Braxton was born Toni Michelle Braxton on October 7 1966 in Severn, Maryland.
She was raised in a very religious family and she started out signing in her church choir.
In one of those "Hollywood moments" Toni was discovered because she was signing while pumping gas.
She has released five albums (her sixth will be released in 2010) and she has sold over 19.5 million albums.
In acting, Toni has scored a couple of "number one" moments.
She was the first black woman to play Belle in the Broadway production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and she was also the first black woman to star in a Disney musical on Broadway.
Toni also appeared in the 2001 comedy-drama film, Kingdom Come and made a guest appearance on the UPN show Kevin Hill.
Sanaa Lathan
Sanaa Lathan was born on September 19, 1971 in New York City, New York.
She is an actress that has not only appeared in films and TV, but on Broadway as well.
Her first film role was Blade's mother in the original Blade film.
Sanaa has gone on to appear in Life (with Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence), Brown Sugar (with Taye Diggs) and Disappearing Acts (where she kinda reunited with Wesley Snipes) and Alien vs. Predator.
She has also appeared in a recurring role on the FX drama Nip/Tuck and she does the voice of Donna Tubbs on the Fox animated series, The Cleveland Show.
And just so you dont think that Alien vs. Predator and The Cleveland Show has "dumbed her down", she will be starring with the legendary James Earl Jones in the West End theater production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Alicia Keys
Another woman that I consider just plain stunning, Alicia Keys was born on January 25, 1981 in New York City, New York.
Alicia started out rough, being raised by her single mother in Hell's Kitchen area in Manhattan.
But she began to get breaks early, making her debut at the age of four on The Cosby Show.
She went on to graduate from the Professional Performing Arts School at the age of sixteen.
Alicia's debut album, Songs in A Minor, sold over 12 million copies worldwide and she has gone on to win 12 Grammy Awards.
She has released three studio albums (her fourth The Element of Freedom is scheduled to be released in late 2009) and one live album.
Alicia made her big screen debut (along with rapper Common) in the 2006 film, Smokin' Aces as a hit woman.
Meagan Good
Meagan Good was born on August 8, 1981 in Panorama City, California.
She started acting (like Alicia) at the age of four, doing commercials and extra work on shows like Doogie Howser, M.D.
Meagan made her big screen debut at the age of thirteen in the movie Friday. She has gone on to appear in over twenty films and nineteen TV shows.
She also starred in one of my favorite cult fims, 2004's D.E.B.S.
On top of all that, Meagan has appeared in several music videos by artists like 50 Cent, Imajin, Tyrese, and Will Smith.
Halle Berry
Like Beyonce, you know Halle Berry had to be in here.
Even though she did Catwoman.
Halle was born on August 14, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio.
During her career, Halle has racked up an impressive awards list, including an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, and an NAACP Image awards and being the first black woman to win the BAFTA Award for best actress in 2001.
Before becoming an actress, Halle was a beauty queen. She was a runner up in the 1986 Miss USA pageant, and she won the Miss USA World 1986 title.
Her first acting role was in the 1989 sit com, Living Dolls.
Halle's film debut was in the 1991 Spike Lee film, Jungle Fever.
She has gone on to appear in over thirty films including The X-Men series (as Storm), Boomerang (with Eddie Murphy), Swordfish (which reunited her with her X-Men co-star Hugh Jackman), Die Another Day, Monster's Ball and the TV film, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, that was nominated for and won a ton of awards.
In 2008, Esquire Magazine voted Halle the "Sexiest Woman Alive".
Gabrielle Union
This is one actress that I knew was going to be a hit the first time I saw her.
Gabrielle was born on October 29, 1972 in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was quite an athlete in high school, participating in soccer, basketball, and track.
Gabrielle started out wanting to become a doctor and enrolled in the University of Nebraska then Cuesta College and finally UCLA.
While at UCLA, she moved into fashion modeling, then acting.
Her first role was in 1993 on the TV show Family Matters.
Gabrielle did several more TV shows before making her big screen debut in the 1999 film, She's All That, but 2000's Bring it On, really put her in the spotlight.
She has gone on to appear in over twenty movies and several TV series including some of my favorites like Life and FlashForward.

You are correct all of these women are beautiful. However, I wonder did you consider Anita Baker or Nancy Wilson? I start there and work down. You could say they are my litmus test for women. Your article is great. Just thought I ask that question.
platinumOwl4: You are correct, they are beautiful, but there is no way I could get everyone on one Hub...LOL
to me i dont really think beauty comes from thr out side me personaly think it comes from with in dont get me wrong all of my sisters a very very prett in all different ways like me for example i belive oprah, queen latifah, monquie, angie jolie, halle berry,j.lo megan good, toni braxton, mariah and many more but not because of there body are they beautiful young black women but because of the things they have done to and for this country the people the lives they have all made a differences in the little things that they do matter in a big way to small people that no one cares about and i anm very proud to stand behind all of my black sisters and be grateful and thankful for everything they have done all though i have never meet one of them i would love to meet atleast one in this lifetime and thats all that i have to say
to me beyouce is like the oprah of music she is a tru diva, toni braxton is one of a kind, megan good look so good in anything that she wears make us skinny women look good girl, gaberial union oh my she has been my fav. since deliver us from eva she played her part, sanaa two words love & basketball, halle berry we no you a legend wen they make a song about miss berry, alicia keys you give her a piano and she will so you her self how bad she is!!!!!!!!
Halle Berry is delicious! Sexy women all!
If one were to go back about 40 years, Nichelle Nichols from Star Trek would have to be here. (in my opinion, of course.) And, yes, I'm showing my age somewhat by mentioning a woman who must be around 70 years old by now, but still....
Who has made the rule that black should not be beautiful?Yes, black can also be beautiful, as we can see here!
Black Women are as and times even more Beautiful & talented as their fairer sisters.Infact in this age the color of the skin no longer matter what matters is the entire package.Take it or leave it...One wud have thought the stereo-type lables went to their grave back in the early 70's but there still seems to be some kinda invisible mental barrier in an unspoken manner that is probably hyped by the cosmetic industry!!!
While Fair & Lovely sells like hotcakes never heard of any beauty cream that highlights Black & Beautifu even though Ebony stunners & Coffee Toffee Beauties have long become the flavor of several Season!!!
I like your pictures, thay are all sexy and beautiful, and young!
Enjoyed reading biographical sketches of each...very interesting and multitalented women. Splendid representation of Beautiful Black Women.
nice very biutyyyyyyyyyyy
I enjoy reading the good aspects of the black race that doesn't seem to get shown unfortunately and this article was well done. I love the fact that you included women of different shades and complexions which is important b/c we are all not one thing. Good job!!
I agree with Barry White. Black women are the most alluring. However, most black men overwhelmingly prefer white women from the lowlife pimp on the street to celebrities.
Bryant Gumble through Tiger Woods, all have been caught be private cheater detectives with the same profile. Women were white, blonde, blue eyed, busty. Inteesting knowing that people like Gumble is an outward racist agaisnyt men but not women.
The doulble standard od black women involved with non black men is still the epitome have racial hypocracy. I personally have had black men attack myself and black women for dating outside their ethnicy. Many of these men are also strictly into white women. I first experienced this in teh military. BET & MTV videoes have interracial sexual exploitive scences with black men and light skinned women. Most black men I know say they do not see dark skinned women attractive. Interesting, as I see all women attractive.
All beautiful but dont forget Tyra, Kimora Lee, Iman all woman are beautiful
Great Hub too bad I did not make the cut lol :-P
my fav has all ways been thelma from good times.my first t.v.crush.
i still remain my name,if i see a romantic love like beyonce
Yes they are all very beautiful but remember that beauty is skin deep and we musn't forget a person's inner beauty, the essence of the mind, heart, spirit and soul which makes up a person total beauty. Very nice hub.
Women can be beautiful no matter the colour or race, but mine is a PC question. Why is it that Black people in America are refered to as "African American", while those of traditional Anglo Saxon descent are refered to as "American Irish","American German". Surely it should be "AMERICAN" first for all those born in America no matter where their parents come from,so many foreigners spend so much time trying to gain citzenship of America, yet the Black people of America want to be classed as something else. Why ?
I agree with Oh pleeease, women can be beautiful no matter the colour or race....There are some very beautiful Black women in the world as well as White, Asian, .....etc. etc.
wew the girls look amazing. Beauties. Yes, include Tyra on the list
