RED ROSES:Red rosees say that i love u and stands for respect and courage.
Rosebuds Symbolize Beauty,youth and heart innocent of love or:"you are young and beautiful".Red rosebuds means "pure and lovely" and white rosebuds signify "too young to love".
A single rose stands for simplicity.In full bloom it means "i love you" or "i love you still" and a bouquet of roses in full bloom signifies gratitude.
Red or white roses together or white roses with red edges signify unity.
WHITE ROSE: A white rose represent innocence and purity, and are traditionally associated with marriages and new beginings.The white rose is a symbol of honor ,reverence and humility.
PINK ROSE:Pink roses in general Symbolize grace and gentility. For more subtle shades of meaning,choose deep pink to stand for gratitude and appreciation.Light pink conveys admiration and Sympathy.
YELLOW ROSE:Yellow roses usually stand for joy and gladness,but can also say " try to care" .
Lavender Rose:Lavender rose represent love at first sight.It represent elegance,Enchantment,fantacy and dignity.This rare lavender rose is truely an elegant bloom,and would be given to someone,who has swept u of emotionally,someone u whish to know a lot better.
BLACK ROSE:Black rose is significant in goth subculture where it represents tragedy,angst,,intense love.The black rose also represent death,a curse,and hatred.The black rose is not naturallygrown bloom,and it is quite hard to find.
Red and Yellow blends stands for jovial and happy feelings.
Coral or Orange roses donate enthusiasm and desire.
Pale colors convey sociability and friendiship.

Beautiful! I love the roses. I didn't know there is such thing as a black rose. I didn't even know there's a blue one. Nice hub!
Black roses are not totally black but a very dark shade or maybe even dyed. But one thing is for sure never gift some one black rose(s). It gives me a good idea to write a hub for different rose colors and what they signify.

Very nice Countrywomen, I love roses, they are beautiful and smell good, all the things needed to make a great flower. My favorite flower is a canna lily, I have no idea what their meaning is if given. I have seen them used alot in funerals. If you know the answer to what they mean would you let me know. Thanks, and you did a wonderful job here with all your pictures and definitions.
countrywomen you have indeed featured my favourite flower. 3 years ago I had over 350 rose bushes growing in my garden. Unfortunately we are in a severe draught conditions in Australia and on water restrictions. I am now down to about 100 plants which I think is sustainable.
As far as colors go I do not think that a pure black or blue rose has yet been developed well enough for commercial release, but its not far away.
Thanks Country Woman for your hub on roses - my fabourite flower - so far I have about 30 roses and they are so totally beautiful I just adore them! The only black roses I have heard of are those that are allowed to die off and are then sent off to old lovers as a form of revenge! it's a nasty thing to do but I guess some people really need to let off steam this way. cheers

Agvulpes - I sure would like to see your garden. If water is a problem then more cactus variety can be grown. I sure hope they do have the Black variety but still wouldn't like to recieve one...hehe
