I had been making jewellery for a little while and had a collection in a jewellery box when the In-laws came to visit for my son's birthday.  He and his Nanna are days in a row for birthdays and we were trying to figure out a gooc present for her - all of his were taken care of.

On her birthday, we went to have dinner with them and I took the box with me.  Before we left for the night, I got out the box and gave her a choice of which piece she wanted.  This is the one that she chose (right).  She liked it as soon as she saw it, so for her it was a no brainer. 

This piece consists of 2 strands of wooden oval beads and one strand of alternating jade and howlite tube beads with a jade pendant.  All this was strung on...fishing line and finished with a sterling silver screw clasp so that the strands twist around each other.

I have been told that the comments are always complimetary when the piece is worn and this makes her feel good.  This is great because she knows that no one else has the same necklace.
