The internet is a powerful tool you can use to build your network marketing business. You can reach millions of people all over the global. You can now with social sites interact with them like never before.

Online network marketing leads can be the best leads you will ever have in your business. But can you use the internet to build your network marketing or mlm business? Check out nine questions below to make sure you can before you get really going…

(I want to make sure you all understand – I think network marketing done right is a wonderful field. I am just putting this information out here so you can learn what to look for and how best you can build your own online network marketing business.)

1. Know the rules and regulations of your contract! Yes – if you are in any network marketing or mlm company – you have a contract sometime referred to also as Policies and Procedures. Many network marketing companies do not allow you to use the name of your company, any products or sales materials, or images/trademarks on any personal website or blog. Some do allow with corporation approval but it can be limiting. You can work around this but be careful.

2. Does your company offer personalized corporate sites (also called a template or replicated site)? Can you sell or promote your products and services here? Most personalized corporate sites will never show up on the major search engines such as Google and Yahoo. These search engine sites crave original content and hate duplicate/copy sites. They are useful to be able to direct people to however.

3. Are you allowed to redirect from a personal site to a personalized corporate sponsored site to sell/promote your product? If this is not permitted, you may need to do a lot of extra work to see a successful sale in the end.

4. Does your company sell the products or services to someone directly if they accidently go to the main site? Or is everyone required to enter a code to make a purchase? Why does this matter you might be thinking – you do not want to loss customers to your own network marketing company. Not everyone is internet savvy and might forget to put your name in front of the address for example and in the end you lose the sale to your own company. The last thing you want to do is be in direct competition with your company. There are numberous network marketing companies that do not permit any sales without a code or reference number – so it is worth checking into.

5. Are putting orders in online easy? In other words, is it easy for an internet novice to place an order or even if the products on your site? Are the products or services featured on the main page or do you have to click all over the place to get to it? To be a successful network marketer online – people have to be able to easily find and purchase your products or services. If it is complicated– this can lead to issues and non-sales as well.

6. Can you sell all of your products or services online or just certain ones the company picks? You want to be able to pick and work with what you feel the most comfortable with.

7. Can you place or change an existing order or atuoshipping order online? Do you have to call the company or is it so hard to do that you have to call the company to change it? Do you have to call to change all the orders for your customers as well – or can they change it for themselves? Look to make as little extra work for yourself and your business – you have enough to do already. You and your customers, in particular, should be able to change or cancel an order at anytime online. If not, you need to learn the reason why and possible request a change from your network marketing company. Also, some companies charge changing fees and many times it seems to come out of your commission check.

8. Does your company charge you an additional fee to process an order placed online? Yes – some network marketing company do charge an extra fee (some also called a credit card processing fee) for any order placed online. Also, some of these same companies do no charge this fee if you call on the phone and place the same order. This fee typically is taken out of your commissions, not charged to the customer. Most companies do not have this policy but is one to be careful of for your bottom line.

9. How much per month/year does your network marketing company charge you to be able to sell and promote online? Many network marketing and mlm are charging $20 per month or more just to have a company replicated site for the privilege of selling/promoting online. If you do not make back what it cost you a year – think twice about the service. Some friendlier companies do not charge at all and offer all distributors/associates them for free.
