Can you become famous

You have heard the phrase" Everyone has their 15 minutes of fame" Well it seems this day to become famous, you have to marry and divorce a washed up Pop Icon, pay for monthly massages from the same sex, or meet Chris Hanson in a strangers backyard. It seems people are becoming famous for all the wrong reasons. I guess that I am equating the amount of face time someone is getting in the national press.

If you really want to be famous, why not videotape your self helping out at a homeless shelter, helping your neighbor mow their lawn, and post that on YouTube. Oh thats right. we are only interested in situations that lead to destruction and harm to someone else. Will the real Greg Brady please stand UP! It is usually those that are giving back to the community, taking the time to spend time with a kid to mentor them that never get mentioned. To me those that give away with asking in return or the famous ones, even though we may have never heard of them. My hats off to people like my parents, who gave everything they had and made sacrifices so that my siblings and I could have a better life. Those are the people that should be famous in my book.

good hub and quite right.

don't confuse infamy with fame or nobility of character. the thing about working-class heroes is that they are genuinely good people and fame isn't their intent.
