Beer coasters have been a way to brand a restaurant or beer brand for many years. The idea is that your customers are using coasters that have your establishment's or beer brand's name on it then they will be more aware of what you are selling and more likely to order it. Beer coasters also have a very practical purpose. For instance if you have an old antique bar or refinished wood bar, beer coasters can prevent it from incurring a lot of damage from spills and condensed moisture from the glasses.

Beer coasters are a great way to advertise anything including special drinks, new brands, upcoming events and any specials. They tend to be rather uniform in appearance. Most bars buy drink coasters as four inch circles or squares. They tend to be printed in four colors. Some beer coasters have advertising on both sides. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 for about 1200 orders and approximately $400 to $500 for 2,500 beer coasters.

Beer coasters can be gotten for free from some beer companies who may be giving them out as promotional items. It is a good idea to ask the beer company if they have any free before you pay for them. The microbreweries especially give out beer coasters so they can compete with the larger companies. If you can get them free from the beer companies then you are definitely saving a few hundred bucks in advertising costs.

Marketing studies have definitely shown that beer coasters can definitely increase your sales. They are also a very affordable way to advertise as one coaster can go a long way considering how little they cost compared to other forms of advertising.

For instance $400 can get you a tiny advertisement in a newspaper over one weekend but the same investment in advertising dollars can buy you twelve hundred beer coasters. If your customers are classy you can also reuse these coasters again and again. However do not serve beer on a ruined coaster that is creased or soiled as that does not reflect that nicely on your business.

There are also some companies online that are similar to brokers and that specialize in getting you cocktail coasters at a cut rate price directly from the smaller breweries. Before spending hundreds on beer coasters you might want to do some surfing on the internet by typing in the words "free bar coasters" or "promotional bar coasters." Sometimes restaurant owners can reap real savings this way as the beer company may sell you coasters at a discount rate or just give them to you in bulk.

If you think advertising on beer coasters is tacky you can also get permanent drink coasters. These are usually made out of a natural wood like maple red wood. There is usually a rubber circle inset into a square piece of work upon which you set the drink. The nicest of these coasters are not varnished that heavily and they look very classy. They are most common in upscale airport and hotel bars.
