First Marathon Guide

Have you ever dreamed about running in a marathon? A lot of people, some who are nothing more than beginner runners, have thought about competing in a marathon, but just aren't sure how to train. Although a marathon is 26.2 miles in distance and should not be performed without the proper training, there is no reason that you cannot learn how to train for a marathon in a few months.

One of my favorite beginner marathon guides is called The Marathon Method and is a step by step training and nutrition guide for running your first marathon. This hub is dedicating towards teaching you about the process of going from a beginner runner to finishing your first marathon.

Keys to Your First Marathon

There are a few keys to running in and finishing your first marathon:

  1. Proper training. You can't go far if you haven't spent the time running to build a solid mileage base capable of taking you to the finish line.
  2. Proper nutrition. You can't excel in your training or the race if you haven't fueled your body with the proper nutrients.
  3. Supplementation. If you have never run for long distances before, you might need additional supplementation to help you replenish nutrients lost during exercise.
  4. Proper guide. Self-coaching is fun, but it might not train you properly. Consider learning how to go from a beginner to running in your first marathon by reading the Marathon Method
