Beginning Internet Marketers' Big Mistake
41Internet Marketing Mistakes
One of the biggest questions I get in my business from beginners is how to make a web site. Building a site is one hurdle that beginners must cross early on in their Internet marketing career.
There are wizards and templates out there that appear to make the process easier. However, these wizards and templates often create sites that are not search engine friendly. It is best for the beginner to learn how to create web sites from scratch. There are free web editors available to learn with. However, Dreamweaver is my preferred web editor. I have several very good beginning Dreamweaver tutorials in my Real Website pro package. I offer many more details about building web sites at stevesclassroom.com.
Before you begin the web building process, I want to tell you something you should think about before getting started. Far too many beginners build a web site which gets no traffic. They spend hours, and hours, and hours building their site, adding content to their site, making the site look nice, yet it gets no traffic in the future.
Before you build your site, you absolutely must consider how it will attarct traffic. While building the site the traffic issue must be taken into mind. It is much easier to consider this issue and use search engine optimization along the way while building your site than it is to go back after the site it built and try to fix the problems then. Too many beginners think that Internet marketing is “build a site and they will come.” It is not like that. You can build a very pretty site and get zero traffic; it happens all the time!
It is very important that you understand the traffic generation process before spending any time on building a site. Don’t make the mistake so many Internet marketing beginners make of assuming that just getting the site build is the important part.
