Navaratna Jewelry

Navaratna Jewelry is getting more and more famous because of its Stylish looks and astrological benefits. When wearing astrological remedies either one can wear Gemstone Jewelry based their zodiac or horoscope or wear a Navaratna or Navagraha Jewelry which has all the 9 stones representing the all 9 planets. Navaratna refers to the nine gemstones related to the nine planets used in Vedic astrology. The word nava means ‘nine’ and ratna means ‘gem’ in the Sanskrit language. Navaratnas are considered auspicious and believed to give the wearer Good Health, Prosperity, Happiness and Peace of Mind. It wards off negative energies or malefic effects of Planets and strengthens the positive influences of the gems. All type of navaratna ornaments including necklaces, rings, bracelets, anklets, pendants, bangles, armlets and other trinkets are extremely popular.

The Gem stones and their Planetery Representations

  • Ruby (Manikkam or Manek): Sun
  • Pearl (Moti): Moon
  • Red Coral (Moonga): Mars
  • Emerald (Marakatam or Panna): Mercury
  • Yellow sapphire (Pukharaj): Jupiter
  • Diamond (Heera or Vairam): Venus
  • Blue sapphire (Neelam): Saturn
  • Hessonite (Gomedh): Rahu, the ascending lunar node
  • Cat's eye (Vaiduryam): Ketu, the descending lunar node

It is a known fact that the positions of planets keep on changing so does the dasa and mahadasas of the planets. According to astrology the malefic effects of Planets can be balanced by the effect of benefic planets when wearing Navaratna Jewelry. Navaratna Ornaments can be worn by anyone and does not have any negative effects. It suits everyone irrespective of Zodiac and can be worn even without the recommendation from an Astrologer. Navaratna Jewelry should be made preferably of gold or silver. It is believed that such an Ornament acts as a protective shied against various diseases and danger. When only one astrological gemstone is worn, it tends to focus only on a particular planet or a specific problem. But when navratnas are worn it brings the benefits of all the nine planetary gemstones simultaneously. Navaratna jewelry can be made with precious gems or semi-precious stones. According to Sri Garuda Purana When buying navratnas or any gem one has to ensure that the gem stones being used in the Ornament are flawless. It is also advisable to wear the ornament after cleaning and charging with Navagraha mantras. One can wear the jewelry before sunrise or any auspicious day at a temple. The correct way of wearing a ring is by wearing the blue sapphire gem representing Saturn pointing towards the body on the ring finger.

Nice introduction about the benefits of Navratna jewelry. My personal opinion is that whether it works or not can be only judged when we at least try it. My parents wear respective gemstones and it has so far been good for them. Touch wood.

"We have to establish an independent institution to do the job. I think is wrong to force tanzanite traders to send their gemstones to a private company, which is also involved in the mining of tanzanite.
