Benefits of illuminated bathroom mirrors
73Illuminated bathroom mirrors are a brilliant innovation. Many bathrooms are now situated in areas of the house with little or no natural light, especially in the case of en-suite bathrooms, where the main bathroom light doesn't give quite enough light or gives light at the wrong angle. Using an illuminated mirror in these kind of rooms makes the lack of natural light much less of an issue.
There is nothing worse than finding yourself in a poorly lit bathroom, trying to get ready for the day under a light that doesn't really provide much help. Peering into a badly lit mirror trying to get your make up right, or shave is frustrating as shadows fall at funny angles and you have no real idea of how you actually look, or if you have completely failed to shave a patch! Many contemporary bathroom mirrors now have the answer to this problem, and along with fantastic design and stylish looks they also offer the option of illuminated bathroom mirrors. There are many different ways the mirrors can be lit, and taking into account the style of your bathroom and the amount of space you have there will undoubtedly be a good range of mirrors available to choose from.
It may be that you need a small bathroom wall mirror to go in a downstairs cloakroom that has no natural light, or perhaps you would like a simple beveled bathroom mirror to finish off a very modern, minimalist bathroom. Lighted bathroom mirrors come in all shapes and sizes with styles to match the most sensible or "out there" decors.
The great thing about illuminated mirrors is that they don't rely on the light given by the main light of the room, which more often than not doesn't hit the mirror at the right angle to give good lighting on your reflection. There are different ways that mirrors can be lit, and depending on the amount of light you want you can choose from all round lighting, lighting just from the top or from behind - the options are pretty endless, and if necessary you can have a bespoke illuminated mirror made to fit your needs although this may well be quite expensive. The light given off by your bathroom mirror can also be used as a nice way to create a relaxing atmosphere in your bathroom if you want to have a long soak in a hot bath. Rather than having the main light on, you could just opt to have the mirror lights on, giving a much softer light to the room.
Choosing an illuminated bathroom mirror over a standard framed bathroom mirror can give your whole bathroom a new aspect and make it feel much more up to date and functional. While it will cost a little more than a standard mirror it is well worth making the investment as it will prove it's worth over and over.
