Bennigan's Restaurant Copycat Recipes

Bennigan's Bar & Grill is a casual restaurant with an Irish pub theme. The first Bennigan's Restaurant opened in Atlanta, Georgia in 1976. Bennigan's Restaurants are located in the United States and throughout the world.

Whether you love Bennigan's Baked Potato Soup or Bennigan's meatloaf, here are some copy cat recipes that taste amazingly similar to Bennigan's restaurant recipes. If you love Bennigan's but can't afford to eat there everyday, try some of these copycat recipes at home.

Applebee's California Turkey Sandwich

This is from my own personal copycat recipe collection that I've had for years and years. I don't know where this Applebee's recipe clone originates.

California Turkey Sandwich- Makes 1 sandwich

Ingredients

1/4 pound sliced deli turkey breast

Mayonnaise or Kraft Miracle Whip (I prefer Miracle Whip)

2 tomato slices

1/3 cup alfalfa sprouts

Green leaf lettuce

1/2 avocado, sliced thin

2 slices whole wheat bread

Salt as preferred

Spread the mayonnaise or Miracle Whip on each bread slice. Place the turkey on one slice of bread. Top the turkey with the tomato, sprouts, and one lettuce leaf. Add the sliced avocado. Add the other whole wheat bread slice. Tada! Just like Applebee's.

Years ago, Bennigan's had a shrimp dish in a spicy plum sauce. Any chance that recipe still exists?

I'd love it if someone also had the recipe to the cinnamin apples side too AND their butter for the rolls! It was always sweet, I can't figure it out!

I would love to help you all, but I don't have those Bennigan's recipes currently. If I find them, I will post here, but I may not have tried them yet personally. And is it true that Bennigan's is going out of business? Sad.

YES it's true Angela. They filed for bankruptcy. :-( (http://www.bennigansfc.com/recent_news.aspx) HOWEVER, Bennigan's did issue a cookbook in 1989 called "Escape from the Everyday Cookbook" (I'm waiting for my copy to come in the mail--it's hard to find and pricey, check ebay and amazon.com). As for what recipes are in it? I won't know until I get it!

My family used to just love the Bennigan's parmesan garlic breadsticks and the garlic butter for dipping. Does anyone know if that recipe is in the book? Does anyone know the recipe for those breadsticks? They wre SO good.

I worked at Bennigan's for 6 years and loved the food. The Honey Dijon dressing they had was just Honey Dijion mixed with Mayo...I think equal parts. Another great food item they had was the pretzel bread they had with some of the sandwiches. I would like to try and find somewhere where I can order that.

I had a drink called Carrot Cake at the Elkhart Indiana Ramada Inn Bennigans. Any chance anyone knows the recipe for that drink? Thank you!

I am looking for the "Emerald Margarita" recipe. I went to Bennigan's a few days ago and had one, and I am usually not much of a fan for drinking because everywhere I go they make them so strong, and I like sweet, smooth drinks that are not thick with syrup. The Emerald became an instant favorite! If anyone knows how to make it, please email me!
