Best 100 Calorie Snacks for Diets & Healthy Eating
74Portion control truly affects your weight loss!
I am a huge fan of 100 calorie snacks. This article outlines my top favorites (you probably haven't heard of them all, so read on!) Pre-portioned snacks that taste great and are only 100 calories are probably the most convenient, not to mention tasty diet food ever invented. The concept is great - eat food that tastes great but limit yourself to one portion. Junk food can be part of your weight loss/maintenance program if you're careful about portion control. I usually have 3-4 snacks throughout the day and 1-2 of them are always 100 calorie snacks (the others are fruits and veggies). Eating 100 calorie snacks that are smaller portions of your favorite junk food allows you to still eat healthy without feeling deprived.
Pop Secret 100 Calorie Popcorn
Do you frequently find yourself making a huge bag of microwave popcorn and eating the whole thing? I used to do that. I definitely recommend that you give these handy little 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn a try. You'll find that one bag is plenty to satisfy your popcorn craving! You get all the yummy taste of regular microwave popcorn and save a lot of calories.
These are also great to pop and bring to the movies. A large movie popcorn can cost you around 1,000 calories!
Emerald Nuts - Natural Almonds
Almonds are a very healthy snack but they can pack a lot of calories into your diet, if you're not careful. These pre-packaged nuts are the perfect snack size and make for a very healthy and savory snack. I love having a package of these with a small granny smith apple for a very satisfying snack.
Cheez-It - 100 Calorie Packs
If I'm not careful, I could unfortunately probably eat an entire box of Cheez-Its in one afternoon. The portions aren't huge in their 100 calorie packs, but you'll get enough crackers to satisfy your Cheez-It craving. Everyone loves Cheez-Its!
Hostess - 100 Calorie Cupcake Packs
These even have an icing-cream center! I've only tried the chocolate cupcakes so far, but they also carry white cake with chocolate frosting and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. You get three, adorable mini-cupcakes in each pack. They're fun to eat and even better is the authentic Hostess taste. You'll feel like you're cheating and eating a twinkie!
Starbucks- Skinny Latte
For around 80 calories, you can have a delicious Skinny Latte from Starbucks (Hot or Iced). What is a Skinny Latte? Skim Milk, Thick Espresso, & Sugar-Free syrup comprise this delicious coffee drink. My favorite flavor is caramel and I honestly can't tell the difference from a regular 200-300 calorie latte. You definitely won't be sacrificing taste here!
Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches
Skinny Cow has a wide variety of frozen & non-frozen dairy products. All are low-fat and low-cal. All, are somehow, insanely delicious. I love Skinny Cow's ice cream sandwiches. My favorite are the classic kind (vanilla ice cream between two chocolate wafers), but the strawberries & cream and chocolate mint versions are also mouth-watering good! Try Skinny Cow; you won't be disappointed!
Oreo Cakesters
Oreo cakesters are so good; they remind me of chocolate cake with lots of frosting. I actually like them better than real oreos (who would've thought?!?) I love to have them with a cold glass of skim milk.
Did you know that a regular oreo has approximately 55-70 calories? (This depends on the type of oreo) Most people consume 5 or more at once, for a grand total of 250-350 calories for one snack.

Great advice. I was not aware that Hostess made a 100 calorie snack. Thanks
you make my hungry.
great hub...
Great lineup, thanks. =) Cakesters are the rox0rz. =D
I love this hub. I usually have a ziplock back of baby carrots to munch whenever I am hungry. Btw some of the processed foods which have less calorie has lots of artificial ingredients about which I am a bit wary. I read even artificial sweeteners aren't good for health in the long run. Thumbs up for a good hub.
I like your thinking. I'd rather half four or five tiny meals a day than a couple of huge ones. I think the term for it is 'grazing'!
I've recently turned to some of the 100 calorie snacks after years of resigning myself to being heavier (attributing it to age and erroneously telling myself I still look okay for a 50 year old...). I have started the path back toward better health and fitness, and the smaller snack portions do satisfy me. I will admit to a special weakness for the Hostess Cupcakes--a favorite of mine since childhood.

I agree with all of your choices and I love 100 calorie snacks. Have you tried the Little Debbie chocolate and vanilla cakes, they are really good. I love the cakesters but I always want more of those lol.
Nice article
