The Top 3 Best 50 inch Plasma TV Sets

I have been looking at all of the many 50 inch High Definition Plasma TV sets on the market and comparing all of their specs and features, as well as how they look and if all else is equal what price you can get them for, to find what I think are the 3 best sets available on the US market at the moment. Previously have looked at other sizes to do the same thing, and I am created this page as a 'subhub' of my main hub on the Best Plasma TV's. I've written a short review of each one which some of the main features and good points which made me choose to include them in my top list, and I've also included a link to the product page for that particular model on the Amazon website so that you can get the full list of specs, read other consumer reviews, and also so that you can see how much you should be paying for the set - take a look at the link itself an you will see alongside the amazon price the 'list price' is also quoted, which is the price that the manufacturer of that TV set has recommended that it should be sold at, and that you should probably expect to pay at most places if you go into a high street store to buy your television.

Panasonic Widescreen 50 inch Plasma TV

This is Panasonic's best widescreen 50 inch Plasma TV set featuring the maximum high definition resolution of 1080p and a 'Neo PDP infinite black panel' for a huge contrast ration of 40,000:1, meaning that you get the deepest possible blacks alongside the most vivid possible colors. Although this isn't a Viera set it does have the 'Viera Cast' function, making it an internet ready television with various widgets and feeds to allow you to do things such as download amazon's on demand videos or get the latest news and sports results from the internet. It also has a game mode, to optimize the set for console gaming.

Samsung PN50A650 50 inch Plasma TV

I love the 'touch of red' design of this set, which I think makes it the most stylish and attractive of the 50 inch Plasma's that I have been looking at. It also has the maximum HDTV resolution of 1080p, and with a great contrast ration at 30,000:1 (they say 1 million to 1, but that's dynamic not native). In addition there is also a top quality anti-glare system, so you don't have to worry about glare and reflections obscuring the picture on sunny days. It is also internet ready with the rss info link, which can't quite match up with the Viera system on the Panasonic set, but which is still a nice feature.

LG 50PG30 50-Inch Plasma TV

As with the first two sets I picked this one from LG does have the full 1080p picture resolution, and internet connectivity with LG's 'SimpLink'. It has dedicated cinema, sports and gaming modes to optimize all of the setting and the Fluid Motion 180HZ processing means that you get realistic smooth motion and no blurring with even the fastest action. One nice feature of this set is the 'invisible speakers' system, which turns the whole front panel of the TV into a speaker system with a widened sweet spot where the sound quality is at its best and something called 'Clear Voice Technology', which recognises speech and compares the volume to background noise to automatically make sure that dialogue is always clear and audible. Take a look at the amazon product information page for the full specs, which are pretty impressive.
