LISP: a great programming language

Lisp is the second-oldest high-level programming language in widespread use today; only Fortran is older. It was designed in 1958 by John McCarthy and it quickly became the favored programming language for artificial intelligence. The name means “LISt Processing language”

This is really a great book. It teaches advanced Common Lisp techniques in the context of building major artificial intelligence systems.

Advanced LISP Technology (Advanced Information Processing Technology)

This is written by the authors of Kyoto Common Lisp. It is a great guide to learning LISP with the recent technological developments.

Successful Lisp: How to Understand and Use Common Lisp

This is a great book also for professional developers at an industrial level.
