As more and more people are turning to low carbohydrate diets in order to experience fast weight loss, it's not surprising that people almost everywhere are cutting carbohydrates out of their intake entirely.

But is this really necessary? Definitely not.  As long as you're choosing the right carbohydrate sources, there is no reason why you cannot include them in your diet in moderation.

Here are the main choices for carbohydrates on a healthy weight loss diet program.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is one of the best breakfasts you can eat because it is low in sugar, high if fiber, and will keep you feeling satisfied for hours to come.

There are many things you can do with oatmeal as well including pancakes, bars, muffins, or just having it plain like you would a regular cereal.

Sweet Potatoes

Second up on our list for top choices for carbohydrates on a low carb diet are sweet potatoes.  Each sweet potatoe contains only about 100 calories (depending on the size) and packs a great deal of fiber.

What's nice about these is that compared with regular potatoes, they are actually quite sweet tasting.  If you're someone who often finds themselves falling off your diet because of cravings, sweet potatoes may be your perfect solution.

Just watch that you aren't baking them with butter or else the low calorie component of these will go out the window.

Green Vegetables

Finally, the last source of carbohydrates that you must eat if you want to successfully lose weight are green vegetables.

These are a really good source of vitamins and minerals and will also supply you with plenty of fiber.

Since green vegetables are so incredibly low in calories, it's also possible to really stuff yourself with them without seeing a negative impact on your overall fat loss diet. Broccoli, celery, green beans, asparagus, and cucumbers are all fantastic choices to add to your meals each and every day.

So keep these points in mind as you go about your low carb diet.  Making smart choices and then watching how much you eat will be the single biggest factor that determines the results you achieve.
