The first book that we got for our son by author P.K. Hallinan was "How Do I Love You". It immediately became a favorite when I started singing the words in a very soothing tone to my son. My husband and I both loved the simpliciy and message that this book sent that we started seeking more books by this exceptional author.

P.K. Hallinan started his career as a children's book author when his wife asked him to write a book for their two young sons as a Christmas gift. He was inspired to write more when he received such great feedback from his friends and family. Since then, he has written and illustrated 89 children's books that cover topics of inspiration, love, friendship, relationships and life values.

P.K., also an ordained minister, says, "If I did any one thing right, I decided very early on to write books that help children and parents alike have better and happier lives. That decision has kept many of my books in-print for more than 25 years, because the values I teach are timeless."

Timeless they are, with such titles as "I'm Thankful Each Day" which was the second book that we bought for our son. This book teaches us all that there is so much to be thankful for, from the magnificent sunset to the beauty of all that nature has to offer us. It teaches children to be aware of their surroundings and that there is always somthing to be thankful for, a lesson that many adults are quick to forget.

"My Daddy and I" was a book that I purchased for my son to give to my husband on his very first Father's Day. A simple book about the bond between a child and father and all of the unforgetable, yet everyday things that they do together. It was such a special gift, one that started a very special tradition in our family.

We started expanding upon this tradition and including the grandparents, with "My Grandma and I" and My Grandpa and I" that we purchased for the grandparents on Grandparent's Day. "My Brother and I" was a gift from our second son to his big brother the day that he was born.  This was a very special moment and a gift that helped ease the transition of welcoming a new baby into the family.  "Heartprints" was purchased for my second son from his older brother when he had an accident and was pretty badly hurt. This one is another one of our favorites because it sends a message of children helping others, leaving heartprints all the way.

Great books like "My Teacher's My Friend" and "My First Day of School", as well as "Let's Learn All We Can" are great books to give to children when approaching a new school year, or before they are going to be entering school to help ease some of their fears and anxiety. "A Rainbow of Friends" is another great one that teaches children that friends come in all colors and sizes. We are all special and unique because of our differences and we have so much to learn from everyone.

I encourage everyone to start their own traditions with these fabulous books that teach positive morals and values. I can't speak highly enough about all of the books by auther P.K. Hallinan. He is our favorite children's book author and we look forward to many more great books in the future!
