The Best Chili You Will Ever Eat

This is truly the best chili that you will ever eat. There is no better chili recipe any where on earth.

The Best Chili Recipe You Will Ever Eat

Here is a recipe for the best chili you will ever eat. Yes I know all the arguments about should chili have beans or should it not. Well you know what i say. What does it matter. This chili recipe that I won $500.00 for does have beans and I myself think that chili should have beans. Chili with out beans should go on hot dogs.

Chili with beans should be eaten with good homemade squares of cornbread and side dishes of sliced Jalapenos, diced up green onions and plenty of your favorite cold beer to drink with it. Below is my recipe for the best chili you will ever eat. Make it and let me know what you think. Is it or is it not the best chili you have ever eaten in your life.

You Will Need For Your Chili Recipe.

1. 2 Pounds of Beef Chuck Roast cut into 1 inch cubes. And no do not trim away the fat. It goes in the pot.

2. 1 Pound Of Ground Chuck. Not Ground Beef But Ground Chuck.

3. 1 Pound of Boneless Pork Chops Cut Into 1 inch cubes.

4. 2 Large Purple Sweet Onions Finely Chopped

5. 2 Large Green Bell Peppers Cleaned and Finely Chopped

6. 6 Jalapenos Diced Up Very Fine

7. 1 Can 4 OZ. Chopped Green Chilies.

8. 1 Can 16 OZ. Red Kidney Beans

9. 1 Can 16 Oz. White Kidney Beans

10. 2 16 Oz. Cans Whole Tomatoes

11. 2 16 Oz. Cans Crushed Tomatoes

12. 4 13 Oz. Cans Regular Beef Broth

13. 1 Cup Chili Sauce

14. 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

15. 3 Tablespoons Chili Powder

16. 3 Tablespoons Ground Cayenne Pepper

17. 2 Tablespoons Fresh Ground Garlic

18. 1 Tablespoon Cumin Powder

19. 3 Teaspoons Salt

20. 4 Bottles Of Budweiser Beer

21. 1 Large Can Tomato Paste

In a large skillet brown and drain your beef and pork. Add your onions, jalapenos, and peppers and Chile's. Cook until your onions and peppers are done and tender. Place into a large stock pot and add in all your other ingredients but your beans. Cook over low to medium heat keeping just below a boil for 6-8 hours. In the last hour you want to add in your beans and your tomato paste. You now have the best chili you will ever eat. There is no better chili than this especially if you take the time to make it right. Don't take shortcuts and don't add in anything else.

Serve your chili with squares of mexican cornbread. Have bowls of chopped green onions including the tops, Jalapenos , Sour Creme, and Mexican Cheese on the side so people can add what they want to their bowls of chili.

And you have now made the best tasting chili that you will ever eat. In fact this is the recipe for the chili that I won first place for in 2001. When you make it let me know what you think by posting a comment below. Also if you wish post your comments, tips, hints or questions below. Let me know what you think about my chili recipe. Hope you have fun eating it.

Yes I really do add 4 bottles of Budweiser Beer to this recipe and always have. It really is the secret ingredient.

One more question your recipe sounds really good but I hate beans, if i just don't add them should I substitute it with something else?

Leave the beans out as I have before and it was very good.

Thanks.

Heinz is the brand of Chili Sauce that I always use. It makes the best chili.

The beer does give it a kick but it will cook out of it as you cook it. It is a really good chili. I and my family love it.

Steve  says:

Do you use the veg oil to brown meat or onions?

crazyhorsesghost profile image

crazyhorsesghost  says:

It will serve 6-8 depending on how large of bowls you use and how hungry people are. Yes use the vegetable oil to brown your meat and onions. Depending on how much grease cooks out of your meat you may or may not need it.

We made your chile, I must say it is the best I have eaten. We took it to our church cook off and won the first prize for hottest chili. All had fun eating it. I have some left and will be eating it today. Thank you so much for sharing a great recipe. We have yet to try the corn bread. With the success we had with the chilie, I am sure the corn bread will be as good. Please understand that no money was gained in the experiance but we did get a ribbon.

Do I put all four bottle of beer in the pot? I read how you said you could substitute the beer with 8oz of Gingerale but 8oz is no where near 4 bottle of beer. I am going to make this next week and need to know for sure.

Sounds great though!

crazyhorsesghost profile image

crazyhorsesghost  says:

Yes instead of 4 bottles of beer use either 8 ounces of gingerale or 8 ounces of apple juice. Either one will work.

Chris M  says:

Alright, so I made the chilli and brought it to my work for a "Pot Luck" day. There was so much food at this pot luck that a lot of people didn't try it but the ones who did said they really liked it.

So I had all this chilli left and decided I would put it in some containers and take it to some of my chilli loving friends and family.

I took some to my mom and she called me later on in the night and told me it was delicious and she loved it.

Then I went to rehearsal and gave a container to my partner in my acoutic band (www.myspace.com/twoperfectstrangers) and he called me 20 minutes later saying the following:

"This is probably the best chilli I have ever had in my life." He was raving about the chilli saying it was perfect.

I also enjoyed this very much and I thank you for the recipe. This is very labor intensive and time consuming so even though it is very deliciousso...I probably won't me making it very often.

I did make some changes to the recipe and here is what I changed / did not include:

I HATE with every fiber in my being...Garlic. I did not include the Garlic because the thought of it makes me gag.

I only added one can of whole tomatoes (I only bought one and didn't feel like going back to the store for a second can.)

I used 32 oz of Beef Broth

I used 1 1/2 yellow sweet oniones (couldn't find any purple ones)

I doubled up the kidney beans...I love beans.

I used Miller Chill instead of Budweiser (thought the lime flavor would be good)

Thought you would like the feedback.

Have you ever used Kielbasa with this recipe? Should I try it?

crazyhorsesghost profile image

crazyhorsesghost  says:

Adam B thanks for your wonderful comments. Really enjoyed them. Thank You

BAM1623 I have made it with Kielbasa and the guests loved it. In fact it was requested at a chili cook off that I make it with the Kielbasa which was a product of Kraft that was a sponsor of the Chili Cook Off. I could not win that chili cook off as I had won it the year before.

BAM1623  says:

Did you just add the kielbasa as an extra meat or substitue it completely? Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! We are excited to try this recipes out this weekend:)

I just added the Kielbasa to the chili after I had sliced it thin and browned it in a skillet. And it was a huge hit.

It will work fine to freeze it. Just thaw in the refrigerator the night before you need it.
