HomeJobStop Review - My Personal Experience

Seeking out directories for work from home jobs has been the bane of my life this past 10 years. I remember when I first found out about working from home and its many possibilities. I had to suffer, like most, and by that I mean...

Get Rich Quick schemes...

Oh yes, that’s all I found and I lost quite a lot of money just trying out types of biz opps in the late 90s such as selling mobile phones, fake oil paintings (oh dear…yes, I thought it was genuine) , stuffing envelopes and selling cheap computer parts.

To a large extent, much of my experience was actioned from a naïve standpoint in that I thought that very little work would attract wealth to my life. I was led to believe that a few hours work would produce a six figure pay check in a few months.

I knew that there must be genuine jobs that allow people to work from home and it was simply a case of finding them. I stumbled on HomeJobStop back in 2004, and to be honest after reading so many bad reviews on work from home directories, i took a rain check.. later, more to the point, a few years later in 2007, i came across some enlightening reviews from people whom stated that they had found a permanent work from home job using HomeJobStop.

OK....I pondered, remembering my skeptiscm back in 2004.

Knowing that unless i tried, nothing ventured and all that, i would never know. So i covered my eyes and hit the link to buy the lifetime membership.... you know the feeling.

It was the best move I had made in my search for work from home jobs that were not scams or employers not willing to pay. Within a few days, i had found freelance writing jobs very easily and one of the employers still receives work from me today.

Its a great site! Once you log in, you have a directory list categorized by profession. Some examples are writers, business, clerical and web development. For example, i clicked on writers and a list broken down by page loaded quickly, 25 jobs per page out of 237 jobs!! Thats just one category. There are so many jobs here that freelancers can just pick and choose and fire their resumes at their target jobs.

During previous years, back in the 90s and as we crept into the 21st century, I was stifled by life’s choices for a while and found myself in mediocrity. I learnt that focus was important. Or you simply take a path does not interest you. Avoid terrible jobs that don’t conform to your interests by ensuring that you focus on the industry that captures your talents.

Work from home jobs are no different, they are in great abundance and you should ask yourself:

What are my interests?
Do I need to train for these interests to become a skill?
Do my interests target an industry that I will enjoy?

Know Yourself And Your Goals In Life!

My point during this HomeJobStop review is before you start searching, focus on your dream job – what does it take, do you have the skills, do you want to run your own business or work for an employer?

Homejobstop is a telecommuting resource offering a job bank of work at home jobs, information, and a free newsletter.

Top reasons why people choose to work from home:

- More Flexibility
- Spend more time with the family
- Avoid long commutes
- Set Own Hours
- Disability

Running your own business is not the subject of this hub, rather finding a work from home job that will be something you like because it interests you and you have the skills required. There are many types of jobs in this field and HomeJobStop will help you to target ones that capture your skillet, some examples:

Web Development

Clerical Work
Secretarial Work

Data Entry

Project management

My HomeJobStop review is written so as to appraise the site though please before choosing jobs from the HomeJobStop lists, knuckle down to establishing what you want to do rather than deciding to work from home purely to escape your employer. Working from home demands a more rigorous set of skills and much more motivation. You won’t have employers breathing down your neck but if you slack in any way by delivering bad quality, you will be fired just like in any 9 to 5 job.

Another possibility – perhaps you like your job but need to work from home. Perhaps your current employer would consider a proposal from you detailing how you can be just as efficient working from home. Ask your Human Resources department on work from home programs. If none are operating, approach your boss – don’t be afraid to ask, explain it’s not the end of the world if it’s a NO but that you may need to resign (you must be direct if a WAH job is that important to you).

Be clear on your objectives here.

Working from home can be very pleasing, just ensure its suits you before you embark on the journey. Your home needs to have a quiet environment somewhere so that you can work in peace. This is essential for phone work jobs. Most companies will test you and your environment for any signs of distractions, etc.

It can also be very lonely. Do you prefer to be around your work colleagues? It can be a very insular life.

Think, and then plan, then action the plan.

Superb hub. I hated searching the net for this information as there's so much of it.After reading through I decided to write about a topic I know really well, and have now created my own site. Thanks Mr Crowley keep this great stuff coming. - 2 months ago

Hi Shirley. That is not for this hub as its a revenue sharing option and not a place to find work. There are lists of sites and many better than this one you mentioned. I do have a hub planned for that, examples are ehow, mylot, lifetips, also there are numerous 50/50 options - these all work using one method only, lots of relevant traffic. - 4 months ago

Yes, good advice. But experience and skills can make a real difference. If you are a beginner with skills in design, programming or you have a technology background, you can hit the higher rates very quickly. Beginners whom struggle tend to be those whom have 1. not defined their skillsets or 2. not published any articles yet. - 5 months ago
