Dish Network Is The First Choice For HDTV Deals

There's little doubt that High Definition Television, or HDTV as it's known for short, is here to stay. Sales of flat panel HDTV sets, especially the LCD variety, went through the roof this past holiday season, and some TV service providers who don't need to be named here are arguing in court about who can offer the more HDTV channels. In addition to that, movies and TV shows in the HDTV format are now available for download from various sources on the Internet. Even the format war between Toshiba's HD-DVD and Sony's Blu-ray high definition DVD formats appears to be coming to a close, which is good news for anyone who's interested in watching their favorite programming in High Def from a disc.

One company that's been leading the way with high definition television all along is Dish Network. That's because Dishnetwork Satellite TV has been offering more high def channels than any of its competitors for quite some time now. For a while it was offering a minimum of twenty five national channels of HDTV programming, which is a lot more than the twenty that were offered by the nearest competitor. Since then, Dish Network has simplified its HDTV offerings and upped them to a full thirty one channels while the nearest competitors have stayed steady at about twenty channels. When you look at the fact that those thirty one high definition TV channels are national channels and that Dish Network can provide you with even more HDTV channels if you happen to live in an area where any of your local channels broadcast in high def, then the high def offerings of Dish Network are all the more impressive.

While the numbers behind Dish Network's high definition TV offerings may be impressive, they admittedly don't say anything about what Dish Network actually offers in terms of programming. Actually, Dishnetwork TV has a lot of offer in terms of HD programming both in quality (as reflected by all of those channels) and in terms of diversity.

For example, Dishnetwork offers a lot of different high definition channels that are devoted to individual hobbies, passions, and special interests. These channels include Ultra HD for fashion, beauty, and style; and Gallery HD for coverage of fine arts, the artists who produce works of fine art, and the creative artistic process. You'll also be able to find out all about the latest video gaming applications through Game Play HD. In addition, you'll have access to the latest developments in the world of antique collecting and auctions through Treasure HD. Even home improvement is within the realm of possibility of things to learn about with Home and Garden Television in high def.

You'll also be able to keep up with news through HD News and sports through a variety of dedicated sports channels. These include Rush HD, ESPN HD and ESPN2 HD, World Sport HD, and more.

Movies are always a winning in high def (in fact HDTV was designed to show movies in the best light possible) and Dishnet Satellite provides plenty of movies in HD. For example, you'll get HD versions of Showtime and HBO. You'll also get HDNet Movies, Universal HD, Majestic HD, and others.

All of these choices make Dish Network a great choice for HDTV. There has never been a better time to start. To find more information, click Best Dish Network HDTV Deals.

Dish network is great

There are a lot of different plans, but we got the basic 100 channels with locals and a dual-tuner DVR for about $30/month. That's with a $10 of per month for 10 months, so after that it'll be $40/month. So that's comparable with cable. We decided to go with Dish Network, because DirectTV's prices were about $10 more all around.

And so far we luuuuuuvvvv it. It isn't snowing on any of the channels, we have our beloved Discovery channel back, and it's quite a thrill, pausing and rewinding live tv! I haven't yet tried out it's Tivo-like capabilities but we'll find that out when we see if I've successfully set it to record Sesame Street tomorrow.

Hi thanks for the article, I just bought a new hdtv and need a better plan than I got now. I will consider your recommendation. Seems like a good choice and have a better plan than I got. Cheers.
