The Best Hunter Pet in World of Warcraft can make leveling much faster. The Hunter class can convert beasts from the wild, if you are not a member of this class someone that is a member can be paid to convert a pet for you.

New pet ability's are first taught to you, then you can teach all of your pets if you desire. If you would like to teach your pet a skill or ability from a beast in the wild, first you will need to stable your current pet. After you identify the beast in the wild that has the proper skill. You will need to go and tame it or pay someone in the Hunter class to tame it for you. Once the beast has been tamed go and engage a few mobs. As the pets ability is triggered you will learn it, you will receive a message that reads "you have learned a new ability". Then you can discard the new pet and get the old one out of the stable. Once the pet is retrieved open your Beast Training window and teach your pet the new ability.

All pets have the ability to learn new skills. Passive skills can be learned by all pets at the Pet Trainer such as Great Stamina, Natural Armor and Damage Resistance.

Active Pet Spells can only be learned by taming a pet that already knows the skill. Active skills are Cower, Bite, Claw, Dash, Dive, Prowl, Screech, Scorpid Poison, Furious Howl, Shell Shield, Thunder Stomp, Lightning Breath, Charge, Poison Spit, Warp, Gore and Fire Breath.

A pets species limits the abilities that can be learned. From the start pick a pet that suits your needs. Every pet has an ability but new abilities can be learned.

Some of the very exotic pets can be purchased in the auction house. If you have a lot of patience sometimes exotic pets are dropped by mobs.
