We want to be able to let our kids play freely on the internet without the risk of running into some nasty people which are commonly found in the world today. I have a few sites that I am about to share with you which are extremely safe and secure. I have been playing on them for over 5 years now (yep, I still haven't grown up, but either has my mum, so...). Before I start, let me just mention that all these sites that I am about to name are FREE to join.

Neopets.com! You've probably heard of the site, and it's more than likely been praise, not insulted. Neopets is a virtual pets site where you can interact with your peers while being safe from sexually explict images, messages etc as well as curse words and other forms of verbal abuse. If somebody on Neopets breaches the rules their account is frozen. If a child is under the age of 13 they can not receive messages from anyone on the site which I am guessing is to protect the younger ones from sexual predators (don't get me wrong, everyone is protected). Neopets does not allow links to be posted unless they are Neopets links, you can report anyone who is scamming, spamming or harrassing. I've always found it a safe place for kids who just wanna have a bit of fun. The games on Neopets are absolutely fabulous and the graphics are spectacular! They really are the top of the crop!

Subeta.org is yet another virtual pets site (in fact, all the kids gaming sites I am going to share with you today are virtual pet sites). Subeta has all the same safety features as Neopets does. Once again, this is another site that is reliable and safe for your children to play on. Just the same as Neopets, it is educational in its own fun and entertaining way and is full of colour and life!

MaraPets.com is not as well-known as Neopets and the graphics aren't as great but the care and effort is still there. The games are still fun although I have found it a little challenging at times to find my way around the site (maybe I am growing up... Nah!). I'm sure they will be just as popular as Neopets in the years to come.

PowerPets.com is another great fantastic place for your kids to play safely. Just like MaraPets, the graphics and variety of choices aren't as flash as Neopets but I wouldn't write them off. Their games are still as entertaining as any other and the educational aspect still exists. Even though PowerPets aren't as well-known it isn't always such a bad thing. Less people means you could be involved in something that is yet to hit the big time plus if your child would rather not interact with his/her peers online, there is less to worry about. Bullying is, like a the other sites, almost non-existent because it is blocked on the sites due to unacceptability (well, obviously).

There are many sites out there for kids to mess around on and these include the sites that are built for kids TV channels such as Nick Jr, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network so on and so forth. But I do believe they aren't as secure and aren't as much fun as Neopets, Subeta, MaraPets & PowerPets, but that is just my opinion (well, and my little brothers' opinions too... can't forget them). So check them out, and explore all the possibilities because we all know there are many out there!
