My best friend getting married just before Christmas Day next month. He asks me to be his best man. At the beginning I refused because I’ve never be best man before and the irony is, I always deal with that kind of event in my day job. How funny I am, right? But he was really hoping me to be his best man since I am the only one his best friend from high school till now. Since that, I’ve tried my best to prepare this best man speech for him. Here is the draft of my speech (feel free to comment). Here we go:

Good evening Ladies and gentleman, first of all let me introduce to you all our lovely couple today, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory. They truly look marvelous tonight. They make every single person in this room wanted to get marry faster. As for me the one who made this best man speech, I feel nothing but envy. As you all can see here, I’m trying my best not to stutter. I hope Mr. Gregory did not make a mistake in appointing me to be the best man as well as delivering the best man speech.

Ladies and gentleman, on my way here this morning I almost did not make it to this place. The bridge somewhere along the road crumbled. It was such a disaster. My car was in a queue with other cars who wanted to cross the bridge. Unfortunately, there was no way any of us was able to cross it. In my quest to cross the bridge and knowing there would be no way I can cross the bridge with my car, I just parked it somewhere on the side of the road and make my way to the other side along a railway bridge.

Fortunately there was a lady across the bridge who did not hesitate to drive me here. This occasion never slipped my mind and this best man speech is certainly something that I have made up my mind to do and no excuse will I made to avoid it. It does mean a lot to me to give my best man speech here in my best friend wedding.

He is the man I have always looked for in time of trouble. We have slept in one room, one bed, one pillow, one meal but please don’t get me wrong. I am only emphasizing how close we were. I am certain that we were closer than brothers. In this best man speech of mine, I am totally honored to let him know that he indeed had made the right pick. Any man who can handle a jerk like me will be able to handle a woman and a family in an amazing way. My word to Mrs. Gregory is, you are one lucky lady. With that I once again congratulate him. Thank you.
