Best Pool Players--Could A Child Beat You?
65Have you ever been beaten by a kid in a game? I used to play Pokemon tournaments with my daughter, and I have had the distinct pleasure of a seven year old shaking my hand and saying, "Better luck next time." It is an amazing thing to be beaten by one so young! It can play havoc with your ego and your mind.
Luckily, I was able to watch these kids beat others closer to my age. I realized that it was not just me, it was them. Where do these childhood savants come from? It seems they live in all parts of the world and with all types of people.
I was reading the news yesterday and felt I needed to share this. Here is a kid, who at the tender age of 2 years old, would certainly beat me at pool. I am not that bad at pool, but I am not the best. I win at least one of every 3 games I play. However, against this kid I probably would not win one in twenty!
Pool shark brings many images to mind, but probably not one of a kid still in diapers. Here is one cute kid, but you will probably change your mind after playing a couple of games! This 2year old child is a pool player to be reckoned with.
His mother and father both play. His grandparents play. Do you think it is something in his genes? I guess natural selection does mean something today. This child is now playing on full sized tables, although he has to stand on a chair to do it. I wonder how long before they let him play in the tournaments?
It seems that this boy was with his father doing some Christmas shopping and saw a child sized pool table. He just wouldn't let up until his father bought it for him. Since then he has improved at a prodigious rate. His parents say he likes to play for 3 or 4 hours a day. They let him, but do not force it on him.
It is amazing that a child this young has the motor skills and coordination to shoot pool in this manner. This is a time that most parents are trying to encourage their children to develop some fine motor skills. Most parents are amazed when their 2 year old can color a picture and stay within the lines.
Some milestones you expect from a two year old is they can draw a circle, balance on one foot or jump off the ground with two feet. Some can even help dress themselves. Most 2 year olds can throw a ball, but without accuracy. Kids learn to use utensils to feed themselves at around 2 years old.
The skill and confidence this child shows while playing pool is incredible for a 2 year old. This child is not even potty trained! Most two year old boys cannot remain focused on a task for longer than 10 or maybe 20 minutes. This child is focusing for 3 to 4 hours!
The extraordinary poise displayed by this boy is stunning. Most children are just learning that their actions control what appears when they color. Parents are usually buying their 2 year olds chunky crayons and balls. Children do not usually even understand how to ride a tricycle until age 3. This child is using the basics of geometry to make bank shots!
It will be interesting to watch as he grows up. Maybe one day we will see him on TV and tell our children, "I remember when he was 2."

Triplet Mom, I was totally blown away by this kid. You can see the concentration, what a gift! LOL, he would definitely beat me!
I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler. I can just see myself trying to line the ball up to go in a pocket. He would definitely beat me.
l1blonde, LOL! "I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler." I am occasionally challenged this way also!
Wow. If he keeps getting better the sky is the limit
ethel, did you watch the video's? I have never seen one so young with such concentration. Just remember to tell your grandkids that you saw him when he was 2! This kid is amazing! I am pretty sure he will go far! Thanks for stopping by! :D
This, obviously, is a great retirement strategy for parents.
