For a basic DVD player with surround sound home theater speakers this offering from Coby is already a great deal at the regular list price, but with Amazon's discount from the list price it is, in my opinion, an absolutely fantastic bargain. The 5.1 channel output player is DVD-R/W, CD, CD-RW, and JPEG compatible, comes with 5 sattelite speakers carrying a 150 wat output capacity and a long-throw 4 inch subwoofer with tuned port.

 If your willing to pay just a little bit more than the bargain basement Coby home theater then those extra dollars do go a long way with this system from Philips. The speakers are much more powerful at 1000 watts, you get 5.1 channels with 1080P resolution upconversion for great HD pictures. 12 bit/108 Superior Digital Analogue converter, Dolby digital and ProLogic II surround sound and it is DivX Ultra certified for enhanced playback of DivX videos. For people who love their ipods there is also the added bonus of having a built in ipod dock with USB input so that you can use it to listen to music from mp3 players other than the ipod or to view photos and videos from USB flash drives and so on. You really do get a lot for your money with this one.

 If you already have the DVD player and all of the rest and you are just looking for a set of speakers capable of turning them into a quality home theater for a bargain price then these may be for you. The main features include: 2-way satellite speakers with 2.5" woofer & 1/2" tweeter, 2-way center speaker with dual 2.5" woofers & 1/2" tweeter, Magnetic shielding (all speakers) and 8" 100W cube-type high power subwoofer. Not quite the cheapest product out there, but certainly one of the best value ones.

Again this system sin't quite the cheapest around (see the Coby one above if you just want the best cheap price and don't mind anything else!) but it is a real bargain. You get HDMI 1080p Up-Scaling to bring up the quality of regular dvd's to a level with HD, Direct iPod Dock Connect, charge and control your iPod or iPhone, LG Simplink Easy control so you can interface with other LG SimpLink gadgets if you have them, USB Media Host for easy access to your digital music and photo library through USB connection,and the Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby True HD and dts-HD Advanced Digital Audio Out technologies provide you with great quality sound output to the 6 speakers for maximum surround sound at 1000 watts of power.
