Best Pubic Hair Removal Options For Men

It's kind of amazing, really, how many men are now grooming the family jewels. And it's not just the metrosexuals doing it, either -- it's gorgeous manly men, as well. Surprised? A lot of women were, too. Prior to the last few years, the only place a woman was likely to see a shaved set of jewels was via dirty movies. (Erm, not that we watch that kind of stuff.)

Today, that's rapidly changing, and men everywhere are mowing the man-lawn. This article is geared toward them, because women already know the ins and outs of pubic hair removal. Men, on the other hand, probably don't know more than whatever their cubicle neighbor grunted at the water-cooler. So let me help you out a bit.

The Seiko Cleancut Personal Shaver

While you wouldn't want to use an ordinary electric shaver on the family jewels, Seiko has created a personal electric shaver specifically designed to shave the pubic area. It's not meant to be used in the shower, and you will need to trim the hair to 5 o' clock shadow length first, but from what I've been able to deduce, this is worth every penny. It can be used on the most sensitive bits, is said to be totally nick-free, and the shaver itself is rechargeable. Note that it can be used on both men and women.

The Seiko Shavy Personal Trimmer

If you're not into the Kojak look, and if you're not particularly keen on having a pair of scissors near the boys, you might want to consider this Seiko personal trimmer. Battery operated, it can be used to trim the hair down without nicking, but it does trim close to the skin, so be warned that it might leave you feeling a bit prickly to your partner. This trimmer appears to be most often used in conjunction with the shaver, resulting in a smooth, hairless area.

Traditional Shaving

This is the way many women maintain their bikini line, myself included. If you take your time and be careful, it's perfectly safe, and the results are silky and smooth. Men seem to get a bit nervous when the idea of putting their Mach 3 anywhere near their testicles, so you may not be too keen on this one. If you are, make sure you use a fresh blade to prevent having to go over and over again. And for God's sake, be careful!

Things to Avoid:

  • Bikini Waxing for Men: Yep, some poor sods actually pay a woman to rip the hair from their testicles. I can't recommend this procedure, as I'm too chickenshite to even try it myself. If you're really into pain, there are better, and cheaper, ways of having it inflicted upon you.

  • Depilatories: All of the products I've seen which are marketed toward male body hair removal, specifically say not to use them anywhere near the family jewels. I'd say go with that advice. Besides, that crap smells like rotten eggs, and it can burn if not used properly.

  • Laser & Electrolysis: Seriously? Only if you're a porn star. Otherwise, it just ain't going to be worth it.

Well, diferent strokes for difirent folks, I suppose. Dont see the need to mow my lawn, or should I rethink that, as I have a hairy chest, and back, can not see it working.

I'm not sure what you mean, Rodney. But if your chest or back hair bothers you, you may want to the articles I did on those as well.

No the chest and back hair dont worry me. It was just the mental image of having a shaved lawn, with the rest of the bodies natural vegitation. ;-)

Mulder -- I don't blame you. ;)

Rodney -- Ah, I see. You never know, though. Most people who try it say it feels quite nice, which I would agree with. You could always try it and let it grow back.

Hmmm,

As one blogger has put it..."pubic hair seeks its own level". If your mate has his or hers trimmed, you are obliged to trim...

Have it shaved? it can be itchy, especially when it the hair is growing back, hmmm the itch that is so embarrasing to scratch hahaha!

Thanks for the enlightening hub, Isabella! YOU rawk!

Interesting Hub. But I think I'll pass on this one. I have very little hair on my head (where the brain sits) and keep that at 5 o'clock shadow length, so I am happy to have a good growth in the nether regions.

It reminds me of the joke. This takes place in a Cuban bar. Bearded chap comes in, orders a drink. When asked for money he points to his beard and says "Castro's army". No payment takes place. This happens little later again different fellow same scenario. The little guy in the corner (no beard) observes this interchange. after the fourth guy gettting a drink in this manner, he decides to try his luck. He orders the drink and says " Castro's army". the barman shakes his head and says "no Beard!". the little fellow uzips his fly points downstairs and says "secret service!".

So I rest my case.

I am young and I know I am not the only person my age that does this. I can understand if you are older and married, or just not comfortable with it. I really don't care what you do, I just do what makes me comfortable. Every guy I know agrees, shaving is bad, trimming is the answer. It looks good without beling like: hairy chest, belly, back CLEAN SHAVE. lol.

It's so humorous to see guys concerned about this stuff. For me, it's a comfort issue, (I wax, yes, I do, and no, I agree, I don't recommend it for the gents, Isabella,) trimming seems to be the way to go, guys. Shaving is... well... it just doesn't look natural. That's just one girl's opinion though. It also depends on how much hair you actually have on the jewels, themselves. Ya'all know what I'm talking about. Shaving is definitely an option for the odd stray hair here & there, but all over? It looks odd. (And yeah. It itches.)

Maikeru - It's not usually itchy if you shave every other day or so!

Sixtyorso -- LOLOLOL that was funny!

Tdrusk -- Shaving the whole area might look funny on some people, but shaving the bollocks usually looks fine.

Nicole - It does look funny on some people -- but it will grow back quickly enough, so shaving is worth a try, I think!

Misha - Your previous GFs were from a time when it was considered normal for women to have to tolerate hair in their mouths. That time has passed, and its a big reason so many women stop performing certain types of entertainment. You may think they didn't care -- but you will never know that for sure, because its not someone most women would tell you.

Mountain Man -- Jesus, I'm glad I wasn't eating when I read that! ;)
