MySpace surveys are a great way to kill some time and share information about yourself with your friends
MySpace surveys are a great way to kill some time and share information about yourself with your friends

My girlfriend is addicted to filling out surveys on MySpace. I'm not joking. I sometimes think the only reason she has a MySpace account is to post surveys on her bulletin board (well, that and search for new music, which she's surprisingly good at considering the vast treasure trove of musical artists available on the Space). She loves it so much that it's become a part of our morning routine: tea for me, coffee for her, scrapbooking or crocheting for me, filling out MySpace surveys for her. Unfortunately, the well of surveys sometimes runs dry, and I find myself having to scour the internet to find more surveys for her to fill out to keep her occupied until I finish the scrapbook page I'm working on. Here are some of the best sites I've discovered:

My Bulletin Space

Your Bulletin Space is found on your MySpace homepage, which is visible right after you log in. Bulletins are messages that are posted to and from all your MySpace friends at once. It comes in handy because you're not the only one with a survey addiction. Odds are at least one recent post on your Bulletin Space from your friends will contain a survey that they've filled out. All you have to do is copy and paste it into a bulletin of your own. You do that by clicking "View all bulletin entries", then "Post bulletin"

PimpSurveys.com

You might want to turn your pop-up blocker on before visiting any of these sites. Try as I might, I can't seem to find a quality survey site that isn't linked to at least one pop-up. PimpSurveys is one of the easier sites to navigate. The first thing you'll see on the mainpage is a list of featured surveys and the number of times they have been taken (some have been taken more than 1,000,000 times!) and it isn't overloaded with ads and links. The best part is that it also lists the length of the survey, which is great if you're pressed for time and looking for a short, quick fix, or bored out of your mind and prepared to dedicate the next hour to a long "All About Me".

The-Top-Tens.com

The Top Tens doesn't only specialize in surveys, but it's primarily what I use it for. I'm not sure how exactly they compiled the Top Ten Best Surveys/Quizzes on MySpace or what formula they did (or didn't) use, but How Many Things Have You Lived Through? and Who Was the Last Person That...? certainly caught my attention. If you're feeling particularly ambitious, check out The Longest Survey Ever! for a 1,000 question and answer session; just be sure to give it a minute to load.

ModMySpaces.com

ModMySpaces boasts the largest collection of easy to find and easy to use surveys, but from what I can tell they only have 26 available on their homepage. Maybe I'm just not looking the right place, but whatever. Several of the 26 offered are awesome enough, like Finish These 40 which gives you fill-in-the-blanks such as "I fear..." and "I hate waking up to..." and "My mom thinks I'm..." Don't be led astray by the 40 Questions You've Never Been Asked in a Survey! link, just trust me when I say you've definitely already been asked.

Bzoink.com

One thing I love about Bzoink is that it takes the survey rating system a step further than many other sites. In addition to listing the length of the survey as short, medium or long, they also assign a value that tells you how many questions the survey consists of. They also have a star rating system where users can rate the quality of a survey on a scale of 0-5, with five stars being the best. The surveys get a letter rating as well (most are rated G, with a couple of PG's thrown in for good measure). The Soundtrack of Your Life is a fun little time kill, and A Very Catchy Survey with MANY Awesome Questions Worth Answering goes a bit deeper than the majority of surveys.

MySpaceBulletins.com

MySpaceBulletins rule because you can choose between New Surveys, Popular Surveys or Random Surveys. The most popular surveys are organized by number of times taken and new surveys are listed by date created. Unfortunately, the most popular surveys are usually the ones you've seen over and over again and are totally sick of taking because they ask the same maddening questions (like "Diet coke or Pepsi? Boxers or Briefs?"). Which brings me to my all-time favorite survey resource...

Diaryland.com

When I first signed up for a journal at Diaryland, I had no idea they had a survey feature. I'm a long time LiveJournal user, and I'd never seen such a feature on their site. You'll have to sign up for a free account to access their survey directory, but believe me when I tell you it's worth it. The directory is organized alphabetically from About You to Zombies, with newest surveys and newest answers listed on the right hand side. My absolute favorite survey is Sentiments, which has amazing questions like "What color best describes your childhood?" "What is your favorite emotion and why?" Another favorite is BeCreative, which is a brilliant list of creative statements to be used as prompts for writing whatever comes to mind.
