Stains form Beverages
Stain # 1-Tea
For washables: You must stretch the fabric over a bowl and pour hot boiling water over the stain from a height of about 12 inches above the stain, Next use an eyedropper(purchase from a pharmacy),with diluted lemon juice to bleach. Machine wash as usual.
For non-washables: Use an eyedropper, also with the diluted lemon juice. Rinse with luke warm water.
Stain # 2-Coffee
Washables:For this stain use diluted vinegar to bleach out stain. Rinse well with water. Wash as usual in washing machine.
Non-washables: Add a detergent and a small amount of water. Rub gently enough to form a suds. Rinse well.
Stain # 3-Red Wine
This is a tough stain but if you follow the procedure correctly, it will work.
Washables: First of all, cover the stain with regular table salt. Stretch the fabric over a large bowl. Pour hot water over the stain just as is done for the tea stain removal. Machine wash.
Non-washables: Apply an oil solvent on stain and let it completely dry. Next,use an eyedropper with diluted vinegar to bleach stain. Rinse thoroughly with cool water.
Stains from Mud and Grass
For all of us who have been kids and have kids now, mud and grass stains from outdoors are inevitable. To make stained clothes new again, just follow these simple instructions.
Icky Sticky Mud Stains
For washables clothing, you must let the mud dry on the clothes. Next, brush off dry mud as possible and apply a mild detergent and enough water to form a suds as you rub. Do this for about 5 minutes. Rinse. If there is any stain remaining, use diluted vinegar. The clothing is ready for the washing machine.
For Nonwashable clothing: Dry and brush off mud as above. Use an eyedropper to apply one tablespoon of dishwashing liquid and 1 cup of water. Rinse well with cold water.
Grungy Grass Stains
Washables
Make a paste from powder digestant and water. Apply and let set in a warm place for an hour. In the summer months, set in the sun for only about 20 minutes.Use an eyedropper with diluted ammonia or vinegar to bleach-out stain. Machine wash.
Nonwashables
Apply a combination solvent and leave on for 20 minutes. Use an eyedropperwith diluted ammonia or vinegar to bleach away stain. Rinse the area thoroughly with cool water.

4. Bleaches: Types are ammonia, white vinegar, and lemon juice- Works on color that remains following a stain treatment.
5.Absorbents: Talcum powder and Cornstarch- excellent for oil and grease clean-ups.
6. Mild Detergent: Woolite and Ivory Snow- For mild stains and stain treatment removal.
7. Household Solvents: Shout and Spray 'n Wash-Uses include food,makeup, grease, and oil.
How to Dilute
Vinegar- 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water
Ammonia- 1 part ammonia to 2 1/2 parts water
Lemon Juice-1 part juice to 1 part water
