An Online Hotel Reservation Company with Benefits
After writing so many articles and reviews about girl and guest friendly hotels in Bangkok I often get asked, "Hey Jimmy, which hotel reservation company do you recommend?".
The answers quite easy. I recommend Agoda.com. I've used many other hotel reservation companies on the Internet for Thailand previously when I've been traveling back and forth from there. Today I have my own permanent home. But since then I've been telling people about Agoda for years and to this date I've never heard a complaint about Agoda.
If you've never heard of Agoda before well I'm sure you've at least come across their website once or twice when you were researching about girl friendly hotels in Bangkok. Agoda is actually a part of a much larger Internet travel agency called Priceline.com. I'm pretty sure you've heard of them at least, especially if you're from the United States.
Agoda specializes in hotels especially in the Asian marketplace. Though they can provide you with great room rates for all over the world. The last I checked you can book a hotel through Agoda for around 90,000 hotels worldwide.
Then the next question I get asked is "Does Agoda.com offer the cheapest room rates?".
From my experience all Internet hotel reservation companies more or less offer the same rates, give or take a few dollars. However, Agoda has a "Best Rate Guarantee", which essentially says if you find a cheaper room rate within 48 hours after you've booked a hotel through them, for the same nights, Agoda will either match the room rate or beat it.
The benefits don't just end there for their customers. Agoda has a "Rewards Point Program" that include discounts and even free nights.
Agoda Rewards Points
Who doesn't like rewards point these days. We find them in credit cards, supermarket purchases and of course airlines. Well Agoda appreciates their loyal customers too. So whenever you book a hotel through Agoda you can automatically earn rewards points, about 4% - 7% of the room rate.
You have to earn a minumum of 12,500 points for the minimum discount of $25. As you can see from the illustration above it's easy to earn 12,500 points. Anyone who travels often knows that $625 for a hotel stay is on average for about a week in a hotel almost anywhere.
After you've earned points you can either use them or save them up for even bigger discounts, enough even for free nights.
Ever so often Agoda throws in these special deals where you earn triple the reward points as well as free nights and upgrades.
You might be asking, "So what's the catch?".
There isn't any, it's free to join. If there were any strings attached I'd never recommend them and face losing my reputation. Once you make your first booking through Agoda you're automatically enrolled in the rewards point program.
There are much more benefits for booking a hotel through them, take a look for yourself and check out Agoda.com for booking hotels in Thailand.

Thanks for dropping by Peter, I've always enjoyed reading your hubes. From my experience most people who travel overseas stay at least 2 weeks. So it wouldn't be a surprise if anyone spent a total of $625 for a 2 week hotel stay.

Definitely a useful hub, thanks, but your example scared the socks off me....a $625 hotel stay! Aaaagh. Mind you I accept there are people living an entirely different lifestyle to myself.
