Favorite Internet Wedding Resources

There are dozens, no thousands, of great sites out there that can help you plan your wedding. We narrowed it down to a few that we found to be most helpful because of the variety of information they offer, as well as the ability to find local suppliers in your area. (with the exception of #2 and 6)

1. The Knot (www.TheKnot.com) has a busy home page, but you can find everything you need as far as planning goes. You can even buy stuff through their site.

2. Ebay - after you have picked out exactly what you want, then you can shop for it on Ebay and likely get the same exact item for half the cost of the retail stores. (we LOVE Ebay!)

3. Gathering Guide - www.GatheringGuide.com - the MOST excellent way to find local resources (photographers, florists, venues, etc) and have them contact you if you wish.

4. Wedding Channel - similar to the Knot, has a ton of great resources and beautiful decorating ideas!

5. Brides.com - Also has some great decorating ideas, hairstyle ideas, cake pictures, and more.   One super-cool feature on this site, is that you can create your own "wedding website" with photos and blogs of your planning adventure.

6. Order-Invitations.com - There are a lot of good invitations sites out there, this one just happens to have a cool feature where you can input your text and actually preview it online. (Way cool!!) that way you can see the invitations before you submit your order. (not all invitations sites offer this!)

Many of these sites offer links to bridal registries as well.  You should be able to find all your local resources from sites 1,3,4,5 and use Ebay for finding all your accessory items and maybe even your dress.  (see my other hubs on wedding planning on a budget!)

The sites even offer links for honeymoon planning, etiquette, invitation wording, and so much more.  With these sites you likely won't need any others.
