Best way to decorate your nursery room (tips and suggestions)
66When you are preparing for a new baby there are so many things that you go through and the nursery is definitely one of them! For us, there was another factor that came into play, cost. We saved quite a bit and were ready for her, but the costs associated with a new child are amazing!
Between getting the house ready and myself we realized that money was running out fast. One of the things that I was adamantly against was anything I perceived could suffocate our daughter. Due to this our bedding was VERY simple. A sheet. That is is it!
I highly recommend getting a convertible bed set. They will grow out of the crib faster than you think and with the convertible beds as soon as that happens you can change it to a toddler bed. (Our daughter climbed out when she was about 11 months old.) Yes, she climbed out! By having the convertible bed we could change it that night so we didn't have to worry about it at all.
Set up the nursery to be functional for you and your spouse! One of the biggest tips my mother gave me was that if you have too much in the room it makes it hard for the child to sleep a they get older since there is the risk of overstimulating.
The only time our daughter is in her room is bed time or nap time. Our house is set up for her to do as much as possible out in the living area, which lets her know when she goes into her room it is time for bed, no question.
We painted her room pink because we had a daughter. There is her crib, dresser, rocking chair, and that is it.
You can do so many things in their rooms but we are planning on a second one and the other thing we have in mind is the fact that when that child comes we will allow our daughter to pick how she wants to decorate her room. This will be a "transition" for her and her room is something we can allow her to have control over as she gets older.
When they are young, don't focus too much on what you can provide them physically in a room, it is much more important to think about what you can give them in time, love, attention, and support!
Good luck on your new arrival!

Awesome! I'm not due to have my own baby for a couple more years yet, but I'll definitely be looking for cute things to do for the rooms when the time comes.
