Have you ever wondered why there are so many supplements and herbs claiming to be the best appetite suppressant? Because controlling your appetite is essential for permanent and weight loss. The truth (that no one wants to talk about) is that in order for you to maintain a low body fat percentage (i.e. have six pack abs) you need to eat less calories. Before we move further into this article where I'll share with you the best natural appetite suppressants, it is important to realized that I said in order to maintain a low body fat percentage you need to eat less calories NOT necessarily less food. How is that possible? Read on and I'll show you.

The problem is controlling your appetite is hard! Millions of dieters struggle to control their appetites (which again is why every supplement company under the sun is trying to convince you that they have the best appetite suppressant on the market). The good news is that you don't need to use any expensive designer supplements to curb your hunger. Here's what you need to do...The quickest way to increase your level of satiety is to eat more fruits and vegetables. I know that this almost sounds too easy but it is true and has been shown time and time again in scientific research studies. The fiber and water content of fruits and vegetables (especially green vegetables) is the best appetite suppressant that you will ever find.

Eating more fruits and vegetables works at controlling your hunger for a couple reasons. The research shows that when you increase your fruit and vegetable consumption at the expense of more calorically dense foods (e.g. refined grain, and high fat snacks) you will consume less calories and report being just as full. This goes back to the beginning of the article when I said that you needed to eat less calories but not necessarily less food. By increasing the bulk in your diet you will feel like you are eating more calories than you really are eating. This is partly due to the fact that your stomach has stretch receptors in it and when you pack your stomach full of foods like spinach, broccoli, and apples your stomach gets stretched, these receptors are triggered, and signal your brain that you are full and to stop eating even though you may not have eaten a lot of calories. It is the fiber and water in foods like spinach, broccoli, and apples that allow for this "trick" to be played on your mind.

You may be wondering "If water plays a role in stretching out your stomach and making you feel full, when why don't I just drink a couple glasses of water before I eat?" Unfortunately drinking more water won't decrease your appetite. This has been testing several times in research studies. For whatever reason your brain doesn't 'see' water as something that fills you up. When the water is part of food (as with spinach or even soup) your mind 'sees' more food and thus thinks that you are eating a lot more calories than you really are.

To recap, the best way to suppress your appetite and eat less calories is to eat more fruits and vegetables that have a high fiber and water content. You want to limit high carbohydrate, calorically dense, higher fat food from your diet and instead eat at least one piece of fruit or a serving of vegetables at each meal; this will ensure that you are simply and easily maximizing the natural appetite suppression of your diet.

good stuff my friend. I believe almonds or walnuts may make the cut too as appetite suppressants.
