How to Reduce Your Eczema Flare Ups, Itch, & Dry Skin

To fight eczema and reduce eczema flare-ups, you need to take care of your skin. I am going to give you a list of solutions that will teach you how to treat your eczema effectively internally and externally. Although few recognize that their skin is their largest organ, it is. Thus, it needs to be treated with just as much love as any other organ, such as your heart, liver, and kidneys. Understand that eczema occurs for a variety of reasons including; stress, humidity changes, allergies, perfumes, soaps, pesticides, detergents, and air pollution. All of these factors are environmental, since your skin is in constant contact with the environment 24 hours per day. It is essential that you use quality skincare products to create a protective barrier for your eczema-prone skin from inflammation and unhealthy bacteria.

Eczema Skin Care Tip #1: Visit a Doctor or dermatologist to determine exactly what type of eczema you have. There are several different types of eczema and each type needs to be treated differently, but the "Big Four" types of Eczema are listed below:

Atopic eczema (atopic dermatitis) - This type of eczema occurs in people who have a genetically inherited tendency to have allergies. Babies between the ages 1 to 2 years old usually have atopic eczema and can appear anywhere on the body including the face, neck, ears, and elbows.

Contact dermatitis - This type of eczema occurs when your skin comes in contact for a prolonged time with mild irritants such as; fragranced soaps, detergents, sweat, perfumes, saliva, urine and even water. Other common substances that trigger skin allergies include cleaning products, deodorants, cosmetics, and medications.

Varicose eczema - This type of eczema is caused by poor circulation and affects skin around the ankles.

Discoid eczema - This type of eczema occurs in numerous round patches. It is usually found in adults and appears suddenly as a few coin shaped areas of red skin, normally on the trunk or lower legs. They become itchy and can weep fluid. Usually discoid eczema steroid creams are necessary.

Your doctor will be able to prescribe you with topical antibiotics or oral medications that you can use before applying a good all natural eczema product like Beauty 4 Ashes healing creams (wwwdiscoverb4acom) or partially natural skin care products for Eczema, such as Eucerin. (wwweucerinuscom). Even when taking your antibiotics, both Both Beauty 4 Ashes ® Natural Eczema Creams and Oils and Eucerin creams can be used for daily skin moisturizing.

Eczema Skin Care Tip #2: Cleanse Your Skin Gently with a Natural Skin Care product. People with eczema often experience skin irritation from using traditional soaps and body washes that have either sodium laurel sulfate, propylene glycol, or lye. All of these substances are skin irritants and extremely drying. Further, products containing steroids have a tendency to reduce the skin's elasticity. Try Using Beauty 4 Ashes Aloe Vera & Lavender Body Wash. It contains tea tree to fight bacteria and emu oil to penetrate the skin and infuse it with vitamins A,C, D, & E. Beauty 4 Ashes products are 100% natural and extremely effective, because they utilize honey, a natural antiseptic, and healing Aloe Vera to soothe dry, itchy, eczema.

Eczema Skin Care Tip #3: Drink Plenty of Water. In order to keep your body and skin properly hydrated, drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of cold water daily. If you want something different besides water that will also help your skin, try drinking at least two cups of green or chamomile tea each day. You can add a teaspoon of honey and Splenda ® as a substitute for sugar or add some lemon in for zest.

Eczema Skin Care Tip #4: Join a Gym to Exercise. Do not go for long walks in the heat, especially where a variety of plants are. This can cause flare ups, overheating, and flushing, only creating itchiness and skin dryness. If you want to exercise, join a cheap, air conditioned, gym. This will limit your skin's exposure to environmental allergens.
