No offense, but AllSat isn't offering ANYTHING different than what I'm already paying a premium for directly through DISH. The Prices are exactly the same. The Gov't should regulate these guys and force A la Carte programming so you wouldn't have to pay for all the garbage you don't want. I don't watch Sports, Cooking, Shopping, Cartoons, and the like yet they comprise a large portion of what I pay for. AND these packages are cleverly designed, because DISH has the data, to separate many popular ch's into different packages that way you HAVE to purchase the larger more expensive plan, IF you want those ch's. And since they have the Date, they know viewers do.....What, IMO, a SCAM..... the gov't should come down on these guys, BOTH DISH and Direct TV like a ton of bricks and force them to offer A la Carte programming. Yes, it's all Just My Opinion.....but someone's got to say it! NO big deal here!

The government isn't going to regulate the cable and satellite TV industry. The government of the US isn't controlled by the people for the people. It is controlled by the corporations for the corporations. Follow the money , it's true ,money is the root of all evil.

The one main difference that I found between getting the service direct from Dish Network versus an afflitate is that some affliates offer cash cards or rebates for ordering from them. Dish Network and other affliates do not offer cash rebates or gifts for signing up with them.

It will not make any difference if the government does force a la carte offerings on the providers. None. The channels will be priced in order to assure that the most popular user selected "packages" (a la carte choices) provide the exact same profits as the providers are now making. Perhaps the government should determine the the price of the individual channels? Never going to happen. In order to do that they would have to create a new government program to figure it all out. Do you seriously think the end result would be better pricing? Have you seen any government run programs that have resulted in better pricing? If you would like to see an example of that kind of model, check out the system in England. If you know anyone there, ask them what they think of the actual cost of the "free" channels run by the government.

I've been on Direct for two years, then on Dish. They both

have a lot of programming that I wouldn't give a wooden

nickle for.I have Dish for the programs I want to see but

the Classic Silver 200 is 65.87 with 70 channels HD included.Of all those channels theres only 20-25 I feel worth watching. The rest are sales, cartoons, sports, and religious,+6 local channels. The DVR is the only good thing.

worth the money.I've considered putting up an antenna and

getting about 20 for free and renting movies.
