Better to Give than Receive

Give to Receive
From my earliest childhood, I was always told by my parents and in Sunday School that it was "Better to give than Receive"
I've been doing a lot or research and studying lately of how to get more traffic to my web pages and there is that same recurring theme
You have to Give Before you can Receive
If you want people to develop a trust in you so that they will follow you, you have to give them something of value, not just once, but over and over again.
This hold true throughout life.
When you give freely of yourself to help people without any expectation of something in return, you get back more than you put in, "ten fold."
When building a website, you don't start with a sales pitch. You give them volumes of good, informational material. It helps build trust and people start recognizing your name and look to see what you are saying.
I'm sure you have all heard this over and over again, but one of the reasons I am writing this is to share information about a wonderful little book I read that drove it all home for me.
I reviewed this wonderful little book on my Natural Health Information website. Unfortunately, very few people looked at the online book review page so I want to present it here.
It was recommended to me by a women who was part of a Women who want to succeed in business group I belong to. I've read so many books on "How to Succeed in Business", that I almost didn't read it. The women was so enthusiastic about it, though, and it was such a short book, that I decided to read it.
Boy was I glad I did.
This is probably the most inspiring book I have ever read. Every page was full of things that I could relate to. A lot of times it brought back memories of things I had done for other people and what followed.
I was so engrossed in each chapter, that I had to force myself to stop and save some for another day. When I would put the book down, I would go over the events that took place in the chapter I had just read and relate it my life and business.
The information in story form was so relevant, it could be applied to both
- how to succeed in business, and
- how to succeed in your personal life.
Each story gave you a complete feeling of peace and wonderment at how something so simple could work so beautifully..
There are five principles which are presented,
Each one totally captures your attention. They make you realize that your do not have to be a high pressure sales person to succeed: no deceptive and coercive tactics like the ones that were being taught.
Here finally, was a book that was telling me to be myself.
I've always been a giver and have had many success in life because of it. Now I understand why I wasn't succeeding trying to be someone a really wasn't.
All of these principles were very applicable to both business practices and personal relationships.
I guess what I was taught as a child really was right because the more I have given without any intent on receiving, the more I have received and the more fulfilled I feel.,
I'd love to tell you more, but I don't want to spoil your anticipation as you turn each page.
The name of the book is
"The Go Giver", by Bob Burg and John David Mann
Copyright 2007"
It is available at your local library and in bookstores. It is also available at Amazon in regular book form or on Kindle.
This is a "must read" not only to help in your business, but also in your personal life. I know you will be glad you read it, so miss out.

Thanks for your comment. the interesting thing is that this book is so enlightening, I wanted to get it out because very few people read the review on my website. Unfortunately, I was just notified that because it is duplicate wording, even though it was y own that I quoted, I am going to have to revise it so the article might disappear temporarily.
I've rewritten the review so hopefully this hub will continue and other people will take the opportunity to read a really wonderful little book

I agree with you that you need to give your readers quality information so that they will trust you enough to follow your blog/site/hub. The problem though is to get the visitors to your articles in the first place. With all the competition online, quality articles in most cases never get read. Some of it is the fault of the writer, however the blogesphere can be very cruel.
