1 Timothy 6 verses 9-11 say "People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruins and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and peirced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness."

These verses are some of the top important verses in the Bible. For those of you who are not fimiliar with the Bible, it is God's book given to us, his people whom he created. The Bible has many miracles, parables, lessons, and skills that teach us, God's people, how to follow and tell others about the one, true God.

In these verses above, God is saying the LOVE of money is the root of ALL evil. I put love and all in all caps because they are 2 very important words in these verses. Many people get this verse mixed up and say "Remember, the Bible says money is the root of all evil". This is a very false statement. The Bible says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil.

...is the root of ALL evil. Not some, not most, but ALL evil.

Many people in today's world get caught up with money status and how much money will I make or have. The Bible says that if we love all this stuff, its the root of evil. Take the lottery for instance. Its called the Curse of the Lottery. Anyone who ends up winning 190 million dollars will get caught up in their money and spend tons of it. Thats what its for, right? Those people went out and spent all that money and didn't even think about taxes. Sooner than later they will wind up being bankrupt.

When people love their money, they love it so much they get addicted and some can't stop spending it! The best thing to do if you are filthy rich is to sit down, think about what your buying and what it will REALLY cost you, and then buy it. You have to examine the amount on the price tag AND the extras.

I am not saying money is a bad thing. Whats the saying, 'Money makes the world go round". That is actually true. High finance people are constanty buying, selling and trading to get that good deal in Hong Kong. The country's welfare depends on the economy status. Everything is about money.

Money is great. I love money and Im sure you do too! Sometimes I even spend too much then I should on stuff when I should have not spent as much. If we don't get too indulged in our money, I think we will make it out ok but those who indulge in their money too much will ultimately pay the consequences with evil.

So as I leave you, I leave you with this saying for you to carry around to others: "The Love of Money is the Root of All Evil"

The Bible has more passages about money than any other subject. So, obviously it is a subject that is very important to God. Thanks for your fine Hub. Well done!

Oh, for the love of money ;-). Actually, I am sort of in agreement here … because I detest money. It brings out a selfish, competitive side in people and devalues human worth and morals. Funny, I just wrote a hub about how to get around having to use money, at least on a small scale. Maybe there is hope for us yet. Great food for thought – thanks.
