So, we have finally reached the halfway mark. Julie Chen's baby bump in steadily growing larger and the Big Brother houseguests are growing more and more agitated and overcome by the "boredom" as Natalie so eloquently put it. Evicted houseguests are no longer being sent home, but now they are being sent to the jury house where they will be shown limited footage of what is going on in the Big Brother House and given time to reflect on who they would like to see win the half million dollar grand prize.

Tonight, we saw Jessie the body builder get evicted by a surprise upset when Jeff used the power of coup d'etat to overthrow the reigning Head of Household (Chima) and replace her eviction nominees (Russel and Lydia) with two of his own choosing (Jessie and Natalie). This was a big shocker to the houseguests, because these were Chima's alliance members.

This was all good news to Russell (the mixed martial arts fighter) who, without this move, would have certainly been going home this week.

So, what are the lessons that we've learned from this reality TV show. First, we have learned to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Throughout this week, nobody knew who held the power in the house. All they knew is that nobody was safe. So, Russel, knowing that he could easily be going home this week, petitioned everybody in the house to keep him. Well, it seems that somebody heard his prayers up there, because he is still in the house and Jessie is going hoem.

We have also learned to expect the unexpected. Nobody is safe in the Big Brother house and Big Brother is always coming up with new twists in the game to make sure that nobody ever feels safe. From America's choice to the way the competitions never use the same skill set too often, the power is up for grabs from week to week. So, nobody can get too comfortable.

In the Big Brother house, your word is your bond. With nothing securing your safety in the house except the intentions of your fellow houseguests, it is important that you make friends, form alliances, make promises and seem trustworthy in the eyes of your peers. Time after time people have been guilty of making too many promises and having them come back to bite them in the ass, because you have to remain loyal to one person and if you give your word to too many people, you end up being loyal to nobody. Big Brother teaches us this, and it's true on the show and it's true in life.

Big Brother is a great show which teaches us valuable lessons about life, love and leadership. To join in on the fun, go to CBS.com to watch full episodes and check your local listings for Big Brother 11 on CBS!
