Popular television media touted the "Triple Threat" to your children and promptly proceeded to hold the information hostage.

One quiet Sunday afternoon watching the news an important news brief was given full critical attention. "The triple threat" to your children, a news piece prominently promoted at the top of the hour giving the viewer an impression of breaking critical news. Amazingly, the commentator went onto the commercial adequately promising that the story was coming up.

Waiting with anticipation and baited gaze at the edge of my seat, I pondered what possibly could this new threat be? Edging closer to the television as the commercial was ending I was greeted once again by the commentator with promise of important information regarding this new threat to my children.

Without a single pause the commentator proceeded onto the next story. I sat there annoyed and still curious what was going on. Patiently I waited as the story proceeded without further mention of the big triple threat to my children. Commentary, after commentary, commercial after commercial I waited getting more and more annoyed. How could they tout such a threat to children and purposefully delay the information?

Finally, the commentator presented the story and with great aghast I was dumfounded by the contents of the story. Unbelievably, the commentator spewed an old story with some extra information tossed in for good measure. According to the story my children are fat. Obesity of America`s children, a story promoted all throughout the news, with 2 other health risks added in. All of which everyone knows by now.

Media, big media, big sensationalism, holding information about our children hostage! I don`t like it and I will not continue to watch news or programs that perform this kind of baiting just for rating.

Baiting just for ratings! Have you had enough? I have!

What is the SOLUTION? The Internet! I rarely watch television because television always tells me what the schedule is and I have no control over what is playing. Comcast Cable Company has the right idea of "On Demand". I want to watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it. Is big media listening? No, I don't think so.

When my Big Screen TV dies (and it will soon) I'm getting a Big Screen High Definition Monitor instead where I will connect my computer and watch internet movies, video, and television the way I want when I want. Good Bye plain old television! Good Bye Big Media!
