Big Brother 8 kicked off it's season on July 5th with 14 new contestants on CBS. I have to admit that as a fan of this reality series, I wasn't sure how interesting this season would be. What new twists could the producers incorporate into the reality-series this year to keep me and other avid Big Brother fans interested?

Houseguests this year were treated to a gawky, Alice in Wonderland make-over with an interior design that ranged from furniture objects that were either ridiculously small or foolishly over-sized. As usual, the show continued its familiar twist of bringing both old acquaintances and estranged family members into the house to see if these failed relationships would impact the player's game plans.

So far, I must say I that am not impressed with the make-up of the household. The show is rather boring at times and it seems that no real strong-hold alliances have emerged. The sole twist that has made Big Brother 8 slightly entertaining this season is America's Player. America's Player also known as Eric basically plays on behalf America. He pretty much acts on whatever the public asks him to do with a little staging from the CBS producers of course. His tasks have ranged from attempting to get players nominated that America would like to see voted off of the show to following through with crazy gestures such as being the heterosexual male who climbs into bed with another homosexual player in the middle of the night.

I must give America's Player a thumbs up for pulling it off so far. He has played the game in a rather clever fashion and has been totally undetected in his rationales for getting certian players nominated. Thank you Eric for keeping the show interesting!
