Biggest Loser Diet Tips
68Diet Problems Solved!
PROBLEM #1
Kids. Spouses. Work. Working out. At times, it can feel impossible to cook the right meals for your new eating habits. Then again, if you don't, you're all the more likely to grab a grease-laden fast-food meal or sugar-filled snack that will only send your system into havoc.
There's a way around every kind of "can't-cook" dilemma. Read and learn!
Problem: I have health issues and can't eat the food on my menu plan!
Solution: "My husband and I stick to the plan. We do, however, switch the meals. When switching I look at the calorie intake for the meal, and then pick one that is lower if possible. I have a lot of food allergies so I really make a lot of switches within the meals also."
Problem: I have no time to cook!
Solution: "One thing that has helped, is when making the meals I make a lot. Then we freeze the leftovers in servings of 2 so we can have them on a busy night."
Alternate Solution: "I found that if I cook my rice and couscous ahead of time it makes it easier for me to stick with the menu when I'm short of time. I just nuke it."
Problem: My mornings are so rushed! I forget to bring food to work, and eat junk at the cafeteria.
Solution: "Try preparing your food for the following day the night before. It will only take a half hour and is well worth it."
Problem: I make up excuses that keep me from achieving my goals.
Solution: "I think about food all the time, but I am determined to gain control of my eating habits and not let them control me I want to feel good about myself and wear whatever I want without thinking, "That would look great if I were thinner."
PROBLEM #2
Standing in a cloud of frying hamburger smells, it seems impossible. You can't eat at a fast food place. You will have to leave your friends at the counter immediately and eat alone. Or break all your new promises to yourself and break your diet.
Stop right there. The Biggest Loser Club fitness expert Bob Harper is here to save the day.
Bob's Strategies:
Salad Solutions: "These days every fast-food place has salads. Order one or even two plain salads if you are hungry. Then order your favorite burger or sandwich without the bun and make yourself a big salad with plenty of protein from your sandwich. You will feel full, and you have avoided the fries and the buns. As far as the salad dressing, get two tablespoons of whatever it is you want and toss the rest."
Hamburger Solutions: "If salads aren't your thing, fine, go with your sandwich. Order it without the bun and absolutely no mayo or special sauce of any kind." Skip the cheese too.
Sandwich Solutions: "Grilled chicken is always on menus now. Go for it. But stay away from the fish, because it's probably fried."
The only thing you must, must, must do is (gulp) skip the fries and onion rings. But remember that you're not alone. "I know you like the fries," Bob says. "I do too, but we are on a mission to lose weight and those fries are only going to get in the way of our progress."
