Warm wax is then applied to the bikini area. Afterwards, a cloth is placed over the wax as it cools. The cloth strip needs to be quickly ripped in the direction opposite of the hair growth.

This can be a painful process so it is best to take some pain medication before the waxing session.

For women who don’t want to deal with the constant regrowth of hair by shaving or the pain of waxing, removing pubic hair with a depilatory cream is an option. The depilatory cream is applied to the pubic area for 5-15 minutes so the hair to dissolves. However, before applying it to your pubic area, test the cream on another patch of skin and watch out for any irritation. Another note is to make sure to buy hair cream removal for the bikini line only and not one for the face as the pubic area is more sensitive.

Electrolysis Bikini Area Hair Removal

Hair removal of the bikini area by electrolysis is a good option for women who have light hair or sparse hair. A fine needle is placed into the hair follicle and a current is then applied. The idea is to destroy the follicle by burning it. Electrolysis is considered a permanent form of hair removal but because the time involved, it will take several treatments to destroy all follicles.

Laser Bikini Hair Removal

In removing hair from the pubic area, light waves are used to target the melanin color pigments of the hair follicles. It burns the structures containing the melanin. Therefore, theoretically, laser hair removal works best for people who have darker hair as they contain more melanin. Even though laser hair removal does not destroy the hair follicle itself, it will retard hair growth for several months.
