Billu which was Billu barber just a few days back, is one of the most anticipated release of this month. Big names, huge money and everything is at stake with this movie. Shah rukh who has lot at stake for this movie was seen doing a lot of promotion for this big release; he so much so delayed the shoulder operation after the release of this movie.

Billu is a story of Billu (Irfaan Khan), one of the main protagonists of the movie lives a very simple life. A barber by profession and holds a very down to earth attitude towards life. who is a barber by profession lives a life close to truth and down to earth. As you can imagine struggles are part and parcel of life, and a simple hardworking person can have some great road blocks in his way. There are instance where he has to let his children’s studies take a toll when it comes to the reduced earnings. His wife (Lara Dutta) mind her role she is a revelation in this part, she is so de glam that you just fall in love with the innocence of the character.

Billu cannot be incomplete without the superstar Zahir Khan (Shahrukh Khan) what would these two characters billu and zahir have in common then? they both were classmates. One had reached the pinnacles of life and other was living a life where he had to struggle for a living.Being a celebrity is not easy and you can never have a moment when you are left alone. He is always guarded with people all around and has a Z category security. Zahir Khan’s unit comes to a small city near to Billu’s village. The news is been flashed that Billu and Zahir were classmates and the life is not the same again for him. This teaser is more than enough you have to watch it to live their dreams and struggles. You will love the fact that simple is good and adorable despite the struggles.

The movie is a remake of Malayalam super hit ’KathaParayumbol’. Priyadarsan the famous director is well known for his remakes and does it to perfection yet again. There are two different sects of india to remake a Malayalam movie and be liked by the Bollywood audience is not easy but they have made a hit score with this one.

  The director who has proved many times that he is a superhit director for comedy movies. He however also proved that he is more than a comedy director. Billu Barber is definitely a superior product from Priyadarsan. Right from the first twenty minutes and you are well engaged into the life of billu and empathize with him all the way long. The characters got stronger and the presentation far better. Screenplay is commendable and the dialogues and applaudable.

Irfaan Khan is known for his excellent performance in many films, right after slum dog millionaire he had more the reasons to celebrate with this one. This is one of the best roles ever and this role is essayed with him in mind. Superb!! Shahrukh Khan has to play himself and he has essayed the character with ease. The climax scene gives an excellent opportunity to the actor to show his caliber and Shahrukh was excellent. A special mention for all the dance numbers they are peppy and energetic, he looks so macho in them. His dance scenes well mixed to the plot and he was quite cool in them as well. Lara Dutta is unlike the other heroines of the Bollywood industry when they are shedding clothes for some roles she looked different. Two child artists were natural and cool and added the fun element in the movie. Rajpal Yadav and Om Puri had minor roles but added the comedy punch in the movie.

Cinematography is first class. The beautiful work by the cinematographer who created the mood for each frame in the style required for it. You sometimes are so busy with the hectic town life that you miss village life. All the songs, love mera hit hit with deepika padhukone, the marjani song with kareena kapoor and another song with priyanka chopra. Shahrukh has all the three leading ladies shaking a leg with him. It is difficult to choose one, as all look so trendy and are well choreographed.

Go for a treat for your eyes, take your valentine along this is a great movie for watching. The film has all it takes to keep a viewer to stick to the seat and we could not ask for better. This is not a run of the mill kind of movie with romance, a must watch for the masses and classes.
