The Biltmore House And Gardens are located at Asheville North Carolina and it was built by George Vanderbilt between 1888-1895. It is the largest home in America at 175.000 square feet and is still privately owned by decendents of George Vanderbilt. It has 225 rooms and is truly one of the most beautiful places in the United States. The home is a French Renaissance Chateau from the Gilded Age.

The estate today covers 8000 acres and is split in half by the French Broad River. The home and grounds are currently owned by, The Biltmore Company which is still controlled today by Vanderbilts grandson, William A.V. Cecil, II.
