Often Bipolar symptoms are confused with depression symptoms. Sometimes when a person is bipolar they do NOT have the mania stages and so their doctor can misdiagnose them and give them anti-depressants which will make the bipolar depression cycle MUCH worse.

Other times when a person is bipolar they ONLY have the mania stages. While this might sound good it can actually be even worse then the depressed stages.
Sometimes these mania stages are so frantic and out of control. It feels like you are running an engine at full speed with out any oil.
And actually this is kind of what is happening. Your brain is literally NOT dropping into the temporary repair state that it needs to keep itself healthy. Which is why the longer the mania lasts the worse it gets. Your brain is literally tearing itself apart.
Your brain needs to balance repair with function. If your brain is always in repair mode you will become depressed. If you brain is always in function mode with no repair you will be come manic.
I learned out to control my brains state at this very cool site. Bipolar and Depression.
Basically what I learned how to do is to switch my brain from state to state as needed. So if I am going into a mania cycle I will switch my brain down to a temporary repair cycle.
If I am falling into depression I will switch my brain UP into the function or run cycle.
It is actually pretty easy and fun. Basically this place shows you how to change gears in your brain.

Remember anti-depressants cause brain damage because they will not let your brain repair itself and they make bipolar disorder MUCH MUCH worse.
Lithium works for bipolar disorder but it is POISONOUS and the amount needed to level out bipolar is VERY close to what will kill you.

I am fairly sure that this hubpage is just a marketing ruse by the guy selling the $97 audio CD about a 3 min cure for depression. Look how well thought out the tags are.
It doesn't work for most people but the guy apparently does honour the money back guarantee.

I just watched a news cast about children with bi polar and I started wondering if the parents of these kids have ever followed everything they are eating. The kids may have a allergy to something they eat regularly but the parents haven't figured that out yet. I would try taking the kid off some of the sugar and wheat products first and try all the different avenues with foods before just putting them on drugs they may not need and could be harming them. I really hope these drug companies aren't just getting rich by selling their ideas to Drs so they can in turn get rich by convincing these parents that their child is in deed Bi Polar. Do your homework, don't look for an easy fix by drugging your kids before checking first into what they are eating. I personally do not believe a child that is under 16 can be properly diagnosed with this disease. I would never consider putting a 4 yr. old on these drugs because a Dr. said he/she was Bi Polar.
