If you notice someone close showing such bipolar symptoms within a short time frame, it is better to bring to the hospital for a detailed examination since bipolar disorder can lead to serious complications.
Bipolar disorder is a serious illness that affects the patients and their family and close friends. Bipolar children that developed this illness at a young age may become suicidal at adolescence, one of the end point symptoms of bipolar disorder. The biggest problem of this mental disorder is the difficulty of detection and correct diagnosis. Many bipolar people had the problem for several years before their signs of manic depression become obvious to an observant family or friend.
Bipolar disorder can severely disrupt the lives of patients due to the frequent mood swings and some cannot even go to work and live a normal life. The pains and difficulties of experiencing mania and depression the next can only be understood by the bipolar victims themselves.
At the worst manic state, a bipolar patient may exhibit these symptoms. If one is not aware of their bipolar disorders, they may be dismissed as being annoying and overly aggressive.
- Becomes very talkative and loud with their voices.
- Tendency to be extremely confident optimistic.
- A fear nothing, unreasonable and impulsive attitude.
- Hyperactive energy levels, and restlessness.
- No need for sleep and does not feel tired.
In some severe cases of manic disorder, hallucinations may start to affect the bipolar patients, leading them to think that other people are trying to harm them. This finally results in the development homicidal thoughts and grave consequences if they are not stopped in time with proper treatment and medications. On the other hand, at the worst depressive state, bipolar people can show these signs and symptoms:
- Feels tired, lifeless and pessimistic all the time.
- Loss of sleep, appetite and sexual desires.
- Loses all confidence and wallow in self-pity and self-induced guilt
It has been found that many cases of teenage suicides can actually be attributed to untreated bipolar disorders that affects their childhoods. As the bipolar disorder symptoms such as manic depression mood swings continue to erode them inner selves, suicidal tendencies may eventually manifests during the stressful adolescence years.
Luckily there are many medications for bipolar treatment available today, depending on the severity of the disorder. It is especially important for bipolar children to start treatment early and give them lots of loving, care and understanding. Otherwise, these bipolar symptoms will become more and more destructive if the parents of these bipolar children are negligent.
