Bird Translator
57Anyone who has a pet knows that it is sometimes very difficult to communicate with them. Many times through out the day (including now as I write) I hear my two parakeets having a conversation among themselves.
Even when I attempt to communicate with Cocoa and Peanut (the raw ingredients for a Peanut Butter cup) they look at me as though they understand what I am saying but then go back to their little arguments. Yes...Cocoa (female) and Peanut (male) appear to quarrel as though they are fighting but they really do enjoy the others' company.
I only wish that there was a way for us to understand what they are saying, so I thought about having a bird translator. With this type of device, the birds would understand when I call their names and I would understand when they are hungry.

Thanks for writing this. It reminded me of when we used to have a cockatiel.
Haha, well my birds definitely know their names and respond to certain words...but at the rate my conure screams in his cage maybe I don't want to really know what he is saying.
But, maybe I do. Interesting thought.
mtsi,
I like your hub! You may enjoy this book a friend just lent me, it's called "Alex & Me: How a Scientist and a Parrot Uncovered a Hidden World of Animal Intelligence--and Formed a Deep Bond in the Process" by Irene Pepperberg
I see that you have parakeets and not parrots, but I'm enjoying it, and I don't even have a bird (just two bird-watching cats!)
dohn121 - I can only wish this device exists...Sorry for the confusion (perhaps I will reword)...thanks
Ken R. Abell - birds are neat pets, I wouldn't mind being able to fly around with them...thanks for stopping by
torimari - :) this is the downside to knowing what the birds are saying. thanks for the comment...
elisabethkcmo - thanks for the book tip - it sounds like something I would enjoy. If the hubbers ever got together I promise to leave my birds at home if you promise to leave your cats at home :)
Such sweet birds! I have a cat that actually sounds like she using syllables to make words. She talks and she answers when you talk to her.
thanks Godslittlechild for the comment...now we will need a Cat translator and we can make sure the cat and the birds do not meet :)
One of my dogs can almost speak English, only all his words begin with R.
Cute hub! Thumbs up!
thanks - I still have not been able to understand what the birds are saying...See if your dog can type then give it a hubber id :)

I had no idea that these programs existed! How cool is this, mtsi1098! My sister and her husband also have tow parakeets who are green a blue. Their names are spearmint and peppermint. I'll be sure to pass along this info.
