What you need:

You'll need to buy undressed craft dolls small enough to fit into your cupcakes (approximately 4 inches tall) at your local craft shop. One for each cupcake you plan to serve.

Homemade unfrosted cupcakes.

Enough frosting to cover all cupcakes and to decorate your chosen amount of dolls.

Small doilies to use as a base.

Easy Directions:

Place an unwrapped cupcake upside down onto a doilie on a plate or platter. Carefully insert the doll into the middle of the cupcake.

Frost the cupcake with a thin (crumb catching) layer of frosting.

Starting with the bottom layer, use a medium sized flat-type frosting decorator tip to make ruffles to form the doll's dress. Work using a slight zig-zag effect and by making a full circle around the bottom of the cupcake.

Continue doing this up the cupcake until you reach the doll's belly.
