Princess Birthday Cakes

You can either order a cake form the local bakery or make your own.

Wilton has many pans and instructions to make princess birthday cakes. Whether you need a big cake or a small layer cake, you can do it yourself. For an almost no fail cake recipe check out this gold cake.

Keep the rest of the food simple. Finger sandwiches cut with cookie cutters in flower, tiara, or heart shapes are dainty and fun. Add some grapes to the table, and maybe some cubes of cheese.

Princess Dresses

Of course your princess will need a new dress for the ball. Here are some websites that carry all types of princess costumes.

  • Many to choose from.
  • Cinderella as well as some other dresses.
  • Belle
  • These are real dresses that your princess can wear to church or other dress up places.
  • The Princess Dress has not only dresses but every other item that a real princess will need on her royal birthday.

Birthday Princess Decorations

Tulle can be bought very inexpensively at almost any fabric or craft store. Buy a bolt of it and use the tulle to create a birthday Princess fantasy. You can swath chairs in it, use it to decorate tables, create big bows, or almost anything you can imagine.

Cover the table in lavender, pink, light blue, or yellow table cloths and then sprinkle them with "fairy dust" created from glitter.

Make a balloon arch and roll out a red carpet through it. If you don't have a red carpet, don't worry. Use a length of red table cloth plastic or a rectangular red plastic tablecloth in place of it.

Make mounds of bead necklaces, tiaras, and other princess jewelry in the centers of the tables.

If it is autumn put use the mini pumpkins. You can use them as place cards and write the guests' names on them.

The Coolest Kid site has many Princess party ideas as well as princess themed printables and clip art.

Games for a Princess Party

Every party needs games! Try some of these to keep the party going.

Draw a castle on a piece of poster board. Cut out "flags" from colored construction paper. Have the princesses pin the "flag" on the castle.

Try this fun alternative to musical chairs. Musical Magic Carpet

All Free Crafts has a number of crafts and games to play.

Most of all, don't stress. Create a to do list and work off of the list. What you can't get done just let go of, no one will care. Your Birthday Princess will just be enchanted with the coolest birthday ever.

Excellent source of ideas. My little Princess is always looking forwards to her birthday party and of course Princess is the main theme. This year for her birthday she had her princess party and asked all her girlfriends to come dressed as princesses, it was great fun-for me too!

As a mother of a little girl, I have had to have several princess birthday parties. These are some great tips!!! Wilton's also has a kit to make a castle cake, with a basic round layer cake as the base, and it comes with towers you attach around the cake and decorate along with the rest of the cake. The result is a cute little princess castle! I got it for my daughter and she loved it!!
