Birthday gift for a father who has everything

Giving your love and appreciation is far better than anything that you can buy in a store.

This is going to be short and right off the top of my head. I am a father of three grown sons. I believe any Dad would wish for two things. The first is to see his children happy and successful. It is such a wonderful feeling of pride and accomplishment to see your children out in the world making their own way. I believe that parents are a bit insecure on the question of did they do enough to prepare their children for life. To show your parents that you are happy and successful lifts a great burden from their shoulders. When I say successful I don’t necessarily mean that you have become a Nobel Prize winning chemist, or a great athlete; it just means that you’ve found your place and you are secure. To acknowledge his birthday with a simple meal that shows your appreciation for what he has given you would top it off.

As for a real present that would really make his day you may consider finding a set of pictures of you and your father together through the years. Thinking as a father I think he would love to have a little photo album with a caption on each picture explaining to him what that day meant to you. The older we get the more value we place on the moments of our lives; especially the ones with our kids. I don’t think I am unusual and I bet many parents experience this; I have had many dreams of being with my children when they were young. Sometimes I recognize where we are and sometimes it is simply that I’m with them. Every parent misses that time and a remembrance with your true feelings attached would be far better than anything that you can buy in a store.

This is such a sweet thought. Really, what else could a father who has everything would want on his birthday but memories of his and with his children :D

Great hub - great idea! Maybe sometimes we look to find gifts that cost a lot to make up for the little time we spend with them. And all they want are memories revived!

btw, couldn't comment on your Lord of the Talents hub because it doesn't have a comment box - wonderful hub!

I think these are the kind of gifts any father would appreciate, not just one that has everything! :)

Shalini thanks for pointing that out about Lord of the Talents. It must have been a momentary lapse of reason.
