How we celebrate our Birthdays is one of the most unique things we do in life. A personal choice we all get to make once a year. We get a little older, hopefully a lot wiser, and maybe even better in some ways. Personally, I have my own set of Birthday rules I try never to break.

I like to enjoy a nice meal with family and friends, Maine lobster of course

eat as much cake as I want, with icecream, preferably gelato. (no dieting)

Presents are fun, but my favorite gift is being able to reflect on my life and do some things I really enjoy doing. No housework or chores allowed. Finally wrap up the day with great music and a cordial of either Nocello or Frangelico.

When I think about Birthdays and how to celebrate them I wonder how many people have the same one. For instance, I love listening to Andrea Bocelli's music, and have the same birthday! I wonder how similar people are when they are born on the same day. That would be the traits of a zodiac sign I guess. Does everyone really have a twin somewhere in the world? I've been told I do, but I've never seen her. You gotta admit it would be kind of fun to meet your lookalike.  Twins are amazing.  They sometimes think alike, have the same witt, and often even feel eachothers pain. 

We have twins in my family. Jack and Jill, I kid you not! Niknames that stuck throughout their lives, calling them by their real names isn't an option. We didn't even live on a hill!  Since I'm writing this I probably won't tell you mine just that I have several depending on which sibling you ask.

What I most look forward to is the Birthday card from my Mother. She is and always will be a very precious gift.

What we do with our lives, the ventures we hope to succeed at and the goals we hope to accomplish can only happen if we let it. Birthdays are a great time to reflect on the past, find happiness in the present and make future memories that will someday be our legacies.
