BiteFight is a free browser based multiplayer online RPG (role playing game) were you can choose to take on the character of either a werewolf or a vampire. You can sign up for a free account and start playing straight away without needing to download anything first. The game is made by the same people who produced the Gladiatus game, and there are actually quite a few similarities in the gameplay between the two.

The basic idea is that you customize your character, training, performing quests or taking on jobs to improve your character, and use the gold you build up you lair with various extra features. You then go out hunting humans or raiding other players. You can also join a clan and help to build up a clan lair for extra protection and cooperation. As with all of these games there is a social element with forums and in game messaging between players.

The actual hunting, raiding and fighting in this game takes place automatically based on each characters skills and equipment - there is no 3D environment that you can wander around in - so it is all about building up your character and forging alliances and gaining resources. Most of the things that are availabe for you to do take time to be completed, leaving you to either sit and wait or just leave the game and come back when they are completed. Because of that this isn't really a game that you can sit down and play on it's own for very long. But if you are into vampires or werewolves then you will enjoy creating your character and building up his lair the way that you want it, and it can be good to leave to run while you do something else in another window and then just keep coming back to it each time something has completed. The time remaining on your current task is helpfully displayed on the tab button or the window button at the bottom of the screen so that you can keep an eye on how it's progressing. There are some nice graphics and there's quite a lot of things for you to do, but the lack of good gameplay means that I can't really rate it too highly. I guess my conclusion would be - mostly for vampire fans rather than gamers.
